EX-Bake Off host Sandi Toksvig has been rushed to hospital seriously ill in Australia.
The 64-year-old has bronchial pneumonia and been forced off work.
Sandi Toksvig is best known for her time on QI and Great British Bake Off
Sandi was set to continue her tour on stage in New Zealand, but is too unwell to travel.
A statement released by Sandi’s representative said: “Due to illness, Sandi has cancelled the New Zealand leg of her tour.
“She has been admitted to hospital with bronchial pneumonia while still in Australia and is unable to travel & perform.
“Our main priority is getting her home to the UK as soon as she is well enough – Team Toksvi.”
She admitted “not feeling 100 per cent” while performing to Australia crowds this week.
One fan said: “Get better soon. You were sounding a bit rough on Monday but still did a brilliant show.”
Another added: “Please pass on our best for a speedy recovery. She said she wasn’t feeling 100% in Sydney but still gave us a cracking show.”
Someone else said: “So sorry to hear that! Her Melbourne show last week was wonderful so I’m sorry to hear she was taken ill since that time.”
In 2016, Sandi became known as the face of QI, replacing Stephen Fry to become the first female presenter of a British mainstream TV comedy panel show, before joining Noel Fielding in co-presenting The Great British Bake Off.
In 2019, she jumped from the kitchen to the garden as she became a celebrity guest on the Chelsea Flower Show.
She left GBBO in 2020, but stayed with Channel 4 to host Extraordinary Escapes With Sandi Toksvig in February 2021.
