Hear how Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian changed their VOICES after finding fame

KIM, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian’s style evolution is something to see, but their DRAMATIC voice change is something to hear.

Here’s how each reality star has altered their speaking voice since their Keeping Up With The Kardashians era.

Kim Kardashian and her famous family hit the small screen with higher-pitched voices in 2007

Kim’s voice is famously now ‘deeper’ according to fans who compiled ‘proof’

Even she agrees

Kim, 41, Khloe, 37, and Kourtney, 42, were in their twenties when their famous family’s reality show first aired in 2007.

Their voices were higher, more of a classic California “valley-girl” fare and perhaps echoed – quite literally – former “mentor” Paris Hilton.

Khloe even acknowledged the dramatic drop in all of their voices as their star power grew on Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this month.

“Our voices were totally different,” she said, to which Kim agreed – “It’s so weird.”

KIM GETS ‘DEEP’

Kim’s light airy voice – or Upspeak – transformed into her famous “vocal fry” or low speak as the years went on, as fans have critiqued her over.

High Snobiety defined her vocal fry: “It occurs when you drop to your lowest register and speak below 70 Hz, which is quiet.

“You’re not pushing enough air through your vocal cords to maintain regular ‘glottal’ vibrations, so you get fry.”

Kim’s famous fry has since become even more low-pitched and more of a “deep” sound, per shocked fans.

A TikToker uploaded a video that began with a snippet of Kim as a young teenager speaking quickly to the camera in a high-pitched tone about “becoming famous.”

Then, the compilation switched to several clips of her in her 20s showcasing the “valley girl” Uptone.

It then showed current-day Kim in a much lower register, as they captioned it: “Her voice has changed so much over the years!!” and others ‘voiced’ their thoughts.

“I can hear the influence of Paris early on then later she starts to lose it slowly and become Kim Kardashian,” one wrote.

“Different voice but the same font,” a second joked, while a third wrote: “Her voice got deeper, too. I just love Kim.”

A fourth noted: “Her conversation just got slower by time.”

The star even once tweeted on the difference: “I’m so confused how our voices have changed. I miss my 2007 voice lol”

And she was famously parodied by North West, 8, who asked her in an Instagram Story: “Why do you talk different [on video]?”

North then impersonated her mom while with Penelope Disick: “Guys! So today I got this new mask, and these new bronzers, I got thisss,” implying her mom’s “video voice” has longer, lower drawls.

But Kim’s not alone, as Khloe Kardashian’s ‘baby’ voice has ‘lowered’ per fans

Her look has dramatically changed too as she recently admitted to a ‘nose job’

KHLOE’S ‘BABY’ VOICE MATURES

Khloe has looked “unrecognizable” lately and recently admitted to getting a “NOSE JOB” with ABC.

But her voice has also been altered – as fans have additionally noticed, from the “playful” higher pitch on KUWTK or “baby voice” going to a lower register as well.

“I feel like kim’s changed 100%, kourt and khlo lowkey the same except khlo got rid of that baby voice she used to talk in from time to time LMAO,” a Twitter user wrote.

Khloe responded, clapping back: “I don’t understand how my voice was different back then? It makes no sense that your voice can change. Clearly I was past puberty at this point LOL.”

Though since she noted it’s “totally different” on Kimmel in April 2022, she’s clearly changed her tune.

Kourtney’s voice has become more ‘relaxed’ since KUWTK

One fan bashed that her voice ‘changes’ depending on her man

KOURTNEY’S MONO-TURN

Mom-of-four Kourtney has a lower, slightly sarcastic linguistic style loved by many – but her annunciation has gotten softer with longer voicings over the years.

“I love that your voice changes when you talk to him,” Khloe joked about her sister’s “intentional” voice change while speaking softly on the phone in a later KUWTK clip.

“Do you want me to talk super loud?!” Kourtney then responded switching things up to her E! era self.

“Kourtney really grows up a new personality accord to her current boyfriend,” one bashed under the YouTube clip.

“F**k Kourtney’s monotone voice,” bashed another to Twitter in 2020.

Though others have argued that her “one-note” annunciation has perhaps changed the least, it’s perhaps gotten “quieter” and “whisper” based as Khloe impersonated.

“Kourtney is too monotone. Have you ever heard her voice change?” one Twitter user wondered.

“Lack of emotion, no tone of voice change,” bashed another though noting the ‘Konsistencey.’

WHY LOWER YOUR VOICE?

Professor Jillian O’Connor spoke to The Cut about another famous and more famously “intentional” voice change – Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes.

“Some of the research we’ve worked on shows that when men and women deliberately lower their voices, it’s actually successful,” she told the outlet.

“They do sound more dominant. They do sound more likely to be someone who’s in a position of power.”

Former Theranos employees, per INSIDER, claimed that Elizabeth’s signature deep voice was indeed fake.

They said she taught herself to speak at a lower tone to be taken more seriously in male-dominated Silicon Valley.

Sounds a bit like Hollywood, no?
