Nicola Adams’ girlfriend Ella breaks down in tears and shakes after recalling her miscarriage journey
The Instagram influencer suffered the tragedy at eight weeks pregnant
Their new show – filmed earlier this year after Ella’s third IVF round was successful – documents their tough journey as they discovered their pregnancy had not progressed.
It shows Ella’s heart-wrenching reaction after being hit with the devastating news they had lost their baby, created with Nicola’s egg and donor sperm, which the influencer, 24, was carrying.
After watching her reaction played back, Ella was left shaking told the pair’s new ITV documentary Nicola Adams: IVF and Me: “I forget how much this brings everything back.”
The Celebrity Gogglebox star brushed away tears as she continued: “It’s all very well watching me with a full face of make-up and smiling and talking back about the situation – I feel that it’s important to see all the other bits.”
Later in the clip, the duo talk to a couple whose IVF journey has also sadly not succeeded.
Former Strictly Come Dancing star Nicola, 39, is seen giving a napkin to her partner to wipe away her sobbing as she admits: “It is a really personal and emotional thing to put all that information out there.
“But the reason why we chose to do it and talk about the journey was to help other people as well.”
The couple decide they want to meet those going through the IVF process face-to-face – and are seen getting into a car.
The video shows Ella stepping into the vehicle with a baby bump – with the star successfully falling pregnant and giving birth to a baby boy this summer after her third round of IVF.
After filming part of the documentary during their pregnancy, Nicola compared their IVF journey to her boxing career.
She compared the journey to boxing and suggested: “The IVF journey
was the complete opposite, I was experiencing emotions I’d never felt and I could not just switch off, I had to ride through all the ups and downs.
“I had Ella by my side and I had her feelings to consider throughout.
“The worst part for me was everything was out of our control, we could do everything right and it still might not work, that was a hard pill to swallow.”
She added: “We learned a lot, mostly how resilient we both are and how much we really love each other.”
The pair revealed in February that Ella was pregnant with the couple’s first child and announced in April that they were expecting a boy.
At the time of their baby’s birth, Nicola wrote on Instagram: “We are so excited to announce to the world that @babyadamsadventures has arrived.
“The first moment we laid eyes on you we felt an instant love and the strongest bond.
“We went to the moon and back to get you and we can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives watching you grow #babyboy #twomoms #twomums.”
