The cast of a hit BBC drama has shared behind-the-scenes secrets about an A-list guest star who "didn't want to be alone" during filming. Global popstar Kylie Minogue surprised fans of the BBC One comedy Ghosts with a cameo appearance.
A popstar on set
Kylie Minogue made a special appearance on Ghosts as part of a tour of potential concert venues with her agent, played by Tanya Moodie from the show Motherland. The episode, which aired earlier this year, was in support of Comic Relief.
Revealing the backstage antics
During a press conference to promote the final series of the show, the cast of Ghosts spoke about their experience working with Kylie. They described her as "lovely" and revealed that the collaboration had been planned since 2020, but had to be postponed due to the pandemic and Kylie's own bout with Covid-19.
The cast also shared that on the day of the shoot, Kylie chose to spend time with them in their dressing room instead of being alone in her own. She even brought her own wine to share with the cast. Actress Martha Howe-Douglas mentioned that Kylie particularly bonded with Simon Farnaby, and she even captured a funny moment of them walking together, with Simon apparently missing his trousers.
The final series airs soon
Fans of Ghosts will be able to catch the fifth and final series starting from Friday, October 6. It's the last chance for viewers to experience the paranormal adventures and comedic moments of the show.
