Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield ‘set to leave This Morning by 2023’, claim bookies

HOLLY Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will be replaced on This Morning by the end of the year, according to bookies.

A flurry of bets have been placed on the presenting duo being unlikely to host in the New Year following the queue-gate scandal.

Ladbrokes is offering odds of 6/4 for Holly and Phil NOT to present This Morning as of 2023.

“Perhaps it’s time for a change on the This Morning sofas,” said Alex Apati of Ladbrokes.

“With Holly and Phil far from being in the British public’s good books right now, it could well be a case of New Year, new presenters, if the latest odds are anything to go by.”

Holly joined This Morning in 2009 to replace Fern Britton as Phil’s co-host.

Meanwhile Phil has been presenting the daytime show four times a week since 2002.

But the TV hosts caused controversy when they were seen skipping the queue to see the Queen lying in state, after some members of the public waited for up to 14 hours.

Holly, 41, and Phil, 60, said they “understood” the backlash – but insisted they would “never skip a queue”.

A This Morning spokesman said at the time: “Phillip and Holly had full accreditation which was organised by the This Morning production team. Any claims otherwise are untrue.”

Fans were left unimpressed by their explanation, branding it a “pathetic excuse”.

A petition for them to be sacked was signed by 79,000 – but Holly and Phil refused to be forced out.

The stress of the last few weeks has apparently resulted in tension between the close pals.

Over the weekend, Holly looked deep in thought as she took a stroll in the park after dropping a huge hint this week that all is not right between her and Phil.

Holly looked furious when she was interrupted by Phil who talked over her during an interview on This Morning.

A body language expert told us that Holly showed signs of feeling “anger and contempt” towards Phil when he butted in.

An ITV source confirmed to The Celeb Report: “Holly will not quit.

“She has been devastated by all the negative reaction after she turned up to work at Westminster Hall with Phil on Friday, but she’s not going to resign.

“This Morning has been her life for more than a decade and the only way she’d consider quitting at this stage is if viewers really didn’t want her there.

“She’s tried to give their side of the story on the show today and they’re both hoping to move on from it now.

“Bosses know Holly is still a hit with viewers and are counting on her working her magic on the show for a good while yet.”
