Holly and Phil stood in front of the cameras after the professional skaters stunned in the opening group performance and got a standing ovation from the live studio audience.

But as Phil tried to deliver the opening lines, the audience which included her former Celebrity Juice co-star Keith Lemon, would not stop cheering.

The audience got even louder with excitement as Phil tried to speak, causing his This Morning co-host to well up.

Holly moved her hand to her mouth as she welled up with tears, at the return of the live studio audience.

“So good to have an audience back,” Phil declared to the crowd.

The 2021 series did not feature a live studio audience due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Ever the professional, Holly managed to crack on and got the 2022 season started.

Fans loved the sentimental start to the show and praised Holly.

“That opening though,” wrote one fan on Twitter.

Another added: “Holly looks beautiful as usual.”

And a third wrote: “Holly Willoughby is just absolutely stunning.”

Holly looked every inch the princess in a strapless gown for this year’s launch.
