HOLLYOAKS’ James Nightingale actor Gregory Finnegan is set to reunite with his real-life wife Ariana Fraval on screen in coming months.
The actress, who played DS Cohen in the Channel 4 soap from September 2019 to January 2020, hasn’t been on screen over the past year because of reduced numbers on set due to Covid-19.
The Celeb Report Online can now reveal that the copper will be making a grand return to the village, trying to catch baddies once again, meaning that she’ll be working alongside her husband Gregory again in the near future.
Gregory, 40, has played the lawyer on the Channel 4 soap since 2016 and is currently trying to fight his attraction towards Ste Hayes.
James is more than likely to cross paths with Ariana’s on screen alter-ego considering their characters work in professions that are linked quite closely together.
Last time on the show DS Cohen was trying to figure out who killed James’ boyfriend Harry Thompson and appeared in many scenes together.
And although the soap star loved having his other half on set with him, finding suitable childminders for their three kids was an absolute nightmare.
Gregory told The Radio Times back in 2019: “Now my wife has joined the show any change in the filming schedules is a double whammy for childcare.
“So it’s all go, it makes things somewhat difficult but we are getting through it!
“It’s lovely having her here. The first scenes she did were actually with me when James had to identify the body.
“She has got to know the cast and is making friends – now she finally can put faces to the names I’ve been talking about all these years! It’s good fun working with her.”
Gregory and Ariana tied the knot back in 2011, and in April 2020 they celebrated nine years as a married couple.
The actress, who has starred in the likes of Suzie Gold and Me Without You, took to Instagram to share some intimate snaps from their special day.
She captioned the post: “Happy 9th wedding anniversary to my one and only.”
The pair share three three sons together.
