But next week, Cleo’s world will come crashing down when she’s left fearing that her abuser is back in town.
Viewers will see Toby decide to track down Pete after discovering some heart-breaking information about his girlfriend.
Cleo is horrified when she finds out what he’s up to.
And later, she’s in for more of a shock when she fears that Pete may have returned to the village.
Later in the week, Cleo confides in Celeste about her fears that Pete has returned to the village, but Celeste manages to put her mind at rest.
However, viewers will see a sneaky Pete watching Cleo from afar.
Will the villain make his presence known?
Hollyoaks viewers will remember that Pete initially managed to manipulate Cleo into lying in court after he was accused of abusing her.
But much to the abuser’s shock, Cleo eventually came clean after some encouragement from her family and gave a testimony about their history, including how their sexual relationship began when she was just 13.
In 2018, Cleo’s fiancé Joel Dexter paid Pete a tense visit in prison after Cleo suffered a devastating heart attack on her wedding day as her bulimia storyline came to a head.
Joel confronted Pete and blamed him for Cleo’s illness.
But when he turned the tables on Joel and made jibes at him for not being able to help Cleo, Joel launched a brutal attack against Pete.
When Cleo found out what Joel had done, she admitted her eating disorder had been intensified by his romance with Sienna, and ended their relationship.
