HOME ALONE 2: Lost in New York is a must watch Christmas movie but fans of the film have been left stunned after Inside the Plaza documentary revealed it has a £23k a night price tag.
The Channel 4 show explored New York’s iconic Plaza Hotel where in the film Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, stays and meets Donald Trump and runs up a HUGE service bill.
Christmas in New York: Inside the Plaza, which is available to watch on More4, gives viewers a behind the scenes look at the five-star treatment the staff provide.
One of the most surprising things that viewers discovered was how much it costs to stay per night for the executive suite. A steal at £23,000 ($30,000).
Many took to Twitter to share their surprise at the cost.
One wrote: “£23,000 a night? Some people have got more money than sense!”
“How much is it to spend a night in the amazing Plaza?,” added another.
While a third exclaimed: “£23,000 PER NIGHT!?!? wtffffffff.”
The programme also revealed some of their guests’ requests, ranging from having rose petals on their beds to having a bath be run on their arrival.
Home Alone 2 came out in 1992 and made the Plaza even more famous thanks to the iconic scene where Kevin meets Donald Trump in the lobby.
The hotel is so proud of the movie that it also offers a Home Alone 2 ‘special package’, which is available all year round.
Price depends on the room you pick but it comes with a $100 gift card to spend at FAO Schwarz at Rockefeller Center so you can live your ‘Duncan’s Toy Chest’ fantasy.
Each lucky guest will also receive a Home Alone 2 Paint Can, Home Alone DVDs and a backpack, plus a ‘10 Scoop Ice Cream Sundae Extravaganza’.
