Horrified Countryfile viewers slam Adam Henson’s graphic lambing scenes

HORRIFIED Countryfile viewers have slammed Adam Henson’s graphic lambing scenes.

The latest episode of the BBC show saw the farmer and presenter working in his lambing shed as he helped a number of pregnant ewes give birth.

However, one sheep looked like she was struggling, and Adam said: “So usually the sheep will be stood around chewing, which is chewing their cud, but there’s one here that is looking restless.

“She’s about to lie down, and in fact, it looks like she’s got a little bit of slime coming from her.”

Adam explained how the ewe had scanned for a single lamb, but its feet looked a little large.

He admitted: “I am not sure if she’s going to be able to push it out.”

“So what I need to do is just straighten those legs to get them into that diving position because they’re curled back like this at the moment.”

As he helped the animal he said: “She’s pushing that out now, good girl, one more big push.”

The lamb was born and while Adam had a split second of worry that it wasn’t breathing, it was soon being licked by its mum and everything was fine.

However, the birthing scenes had not gone down well with some viewers at home, who were having their dinner as it played out.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: “Me turning over the TV to #countryfile eating me tea…”

Another added: “Omg Adam I’m having my tea #countryfile.”

A third tweeted: “Just what you need, Adam talking scrotums and testicles at tea time.”

It wasn’t the only lambing story that featured on the show, as sadly Anita Rani was at a different farm where a poor lamb died, leaving her in tears.

Countryfile airs Sundays on BBC One and is available on BBC iPlayer.
