Fans think Brian’s avatar looked like Die Hard character
Die Hard features Alan Rickman as Hans Gruber
This week’s celebrity contenders consisted of Brian Conley, Scarlett Moffatt, Anneka Rice and Phil Wang.
However, viewers were seriously distracted by comedian Brain Conley’s avatar.
Fans were quick to point out it looked like the fictional character and the main antagonist of the 1988 action film Die Hard Hans Gruber, portrayed by Alan Rickman.
Taking to Twitter, one said: “@RealBrianConley doubling up as Hans Gruber on this week’s #houseofgames.”
Another wrote: “@richardosman why does @bryanconley avatar look like Alan Rickman from Die Hard? houseofgames.”
A third penned: “Brian’s avatar has strong Alan Rickman as the Sheriff of Nottingham vibes.”
A fourth thought: “Brian’s avatar looks like Steve Arnott from Line of Duty!”
Gruber is a cunning thief and criminal mastermind from West Germany who holds the Nakatomi Plaza hostage to steal $640 million in negotiable bearer bonds.
At the end of the episode it was Scarlett and Anneka were in the lead with seven points.
A daily winner is declared following a quickfire round at the end of each show, and the scores are tallied across the week, resulting in an overall champion being awarded the House of Games Festive Trophy on Friday.
Will the winning stars opt for the much-coveted House of Games suitcase, or will they be tempted with the House of Games fondue set?
Scarlett appears to be on a winning streak this Christmas after winning Celebrity Lego Masters, alongside her dad and sister.
Meanwhile, Brian Conley, 61, can currently be seen as Buttons in Cinderella at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking.
Soap fans will know Brian from EastEnders as Tom ‘Rocky’ Cotton, who joined the show as the son of Charlie Cotton in 2021.
Fellow comedian Phil recently announced a huge national tour, following on from the success of his Netflix stand-up special and book.
Richard Osman’s House of Games airs weekdays at 6pm on BBC Two.
