Rescue: Extreme Medics will not air a third series

Channel 4 viewers loved watching the service which aimed to bring the hospital direct to the patient in an effort to save lives like never before.

But after only two series and it’s loyal following it seems the commercial broadcaster has decided to end the show’s run.

Fans have previously taken to social media to praise the series for ‘remarkable’

One wrote: “Rescue: Extreme Medics on @Channel4 Remarkable work from all concerned.”

A second fan said: “I’m a bit late to Rescue: Extreme Medics tonight….. but this is real life dramas playing out.”

“Rescue: Extreme Medics on @Channel4 is a great illustration of the work of the @MtcWos. brilliant TV”

“A tense start to series 2 #extrememedics. Incredible clinical skills and teamwork,” wrote a third.

Meanwhile, a fourth viewer previously commented: “Loving extreme medics

This comes as the network axed three other hugely popular TV shows that left fans devastated.

The network has reportedly run into funding issues and has had to make the difficult decision to can a slew of successful series.

The budget cuts are said to have affected Naked Attraction, Four Weddings and Scared of The Dark.

According to the Daily Mail, staff at the struggling channel are calling the culling of these shows a ‘bloodbath’.

Popular panel show The Last Leg is also believed to have had its episode order slashed for its upcoming series.

Four Weddings is a particular shock as Channel 4 trumpeted about bringing back the much-loved series for a reboot.

An insider told the publication: “At first everyone was in total shock when Four Weddings was cancelled.

‘”It’s almost unheard of that a show that is going really well is decommissioned, but as news started to spread, other shows were falling down too.

“The casting team were already in place to start on Naked Attraction and were all told they were no longer needed as they were not making another series.”
