FORMER Apprentice star Jessica Cunningham has warned this year’s candidates not to chase the fame.
The 34-year-old appeared on the BBC show in 2016 and went on to appear in Celebrity Big Brother, while regularly featuring in the press for her personal life, which meant her clothing business took a back seat.
Speaking now about her experience, the mum-of-five admitted she got “lazy” and ended up feeling “miserable”.
Wishing the new candidates luck, she advised: “Best bit of advice I can give: DO NOT CHASE THE FAME.
“That was THEEEEEE biggest mistake I made. I got lazy, pratted about doing set up pap shots, stopped working in my business, attempted to become a mum blogger, and continued to search for validation through strangers.
“When I went onto the apprentice, I went on to win, with no intention of fame.
“Not for the opportunity, but to show people I was “good enough” – then when i lost, I did some dodgy underwear shots, dated one of the other candidates #cringe and went onto celeb big brother 
instead.
“That was the most miserable I had ever been. I was searching so hard for something I possessed all along. Worth.
She continued: “I remember feeling like a failure and not good enough when people/friends/relatives would say to me “you want to get yourself on @bbcstrictly Or @imacelebrity ” or ” you should present @loosewomen or @thismorning ” and I’d smile awkwardly and be thinking “I’m a bloody D list celebrity” .
“Being on TV really messed my head up, I was riddled with low self confidence, bought Instagram likes to keep up with appearances and attend events that I didn’t really want to go to for press opportunities.
“It also made me lose my integrity for a little bit.”
She went on to say that there has been benefits though – including a platform to work with “incredible women.”
She concluded: “Moral of the story, don’t chase the fame, enjoy the ride, maximize on the publicity you do get, and use it to grow your MOTHER F**KING BUSINESS.”
Jessica appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2017 alongside the likes of Jedward and Heidi and Spencer Pratt.
She briefly dated Courtney Wood, who also appeared on The Apprentice.
She is now a mind coach and helps female entrepreneurs grow their businesses.
