HOLLY Willoughby has opened up about her fears that fans think her career comes before her family life.
The This Morning co-host is worried that people may believe she loves her job as a presenter more than her own children.
Holly, 40, revealed the pressures of working in front of the cameras full time in an interview with The One Show.
She discussed her concerns about what other people may think of her parenting skills, admitting she has missed out on the school run due to her demanding schedule.
The presenter, who is the mother of Harry, 12, Belle, 10, and seven-year-old Chester talked about struggling with guilt after she missed taking her kids to school on a regular basis.
“I feel guilty about everything.” she said “It’s totally normal. But what I would say is – and this is what I really have to focus on – where’s the guilt coming from?”
She admitted to feeling ashamed about neglecting her responsibilities as a mum due to her habit of worrying about what other mums would think about her.
“Because I think the problem with working mums is that I’m feeling guilty because I’m not there to drop my kids off in the morning because I have to go to work.” she explained.
“What I’m feeling guilty about, is that in some way I’m telling myself that I clearly don’t love my kids because I love my career more than my children, which is why I’m choosing to do this,” Holly continued.
Holly shared her 3 kids with her producer husband, Daniel Baldwin, who she tied the knot with back in 2007.
“And of course, that’s not the case. I know that’s not the case because I know I love my kids more than anything on this planet. So why am I thinking like that? And it’s because I believe that’s what everyone else is thinking.”
She continued: “You just have to re-evaluate whose opinions you’re living by. Are they yours or someone else’s?”
The Celebrity Juice star previously opened up about her fear of getting cancelled and the pressures of being in the public eye.
She spoke about how her issues and a fear of cancel culture while hosting This Morning led to her losing her voice.
She said comments she made would be cruelly twisted on social media — leaving her censoring her own opinions.
Holly said: “I find myself almost regurgitating what other people have said because I don’t know what I want to say any more.”
This fear also led Holly to ditch her showbiz agency and start her own firm, called Roxy.
