I was an overweight idiot who drank too much but getting beaten up by Dan Osborne was a wake up call, says Jamie Jewitt

LOVE Island’s Jamie Jewitt has admitted he was an “overweight idiot who drank too much” when he was badly beaten up by Dan Osborne.

The model, 31, competed against former Towie star Dan, 30, for a charity event Boxstar last year.

He admits he “got what he deserved” when he was thrashed in the friendly boxing match – which left him with black eyes and a badly swollen face.

It inspired him to go on a dramatic health kick and lose two and a half stone.

In an exclusive interview with The Celeb Report, Jamie said: “Overall it was an incredible experience, one hell of a buzz.

“But In all honesty this was another of the big catalysts for my motivation to get back to a fit healthy state.

“I’ve loved boxing and boxed for a large part of my life. I went into the ring out of shape, overweight, drank alcohol through camp and was just an idiot about the whole thing.

“A stupid approach when fighting a big strong lad like Dan.

“I lost my first boxing match which was a tough pill to swallow, but in hindsight I’m glad I did, I got what I deserved.

“Dan boxed brilliantly and I had no answer. I’ll always love the sport and when I fight again, which I will, I’ll be a different person.”

Jamie is now five stone heavier than when he first walked into the villa five years ago.

After growing “concerned” about his size, the former reality star was inspired to lose the weight to be a better parent.

“Honestly my life changed most when I became a parent as I stopped putting myself and my health first,” admits Jamie.

“I’ve always exercised so I have to admit it was mainly diet that I began struggling with, being a parent for the first time quick and easy foods are what I got used to choosing.

“I also felt that after a crazy busy day I just wanted to treat myself and eat what I liked!

“This all ended up creating a habit of ignoring self-care and I slowly lost the discipline I once had when it came to food.

“Its a slippery slope once the bad habits set in and a difficult cycle to break when you have so much else going on that you need to think about i.e an increasingly energetic little bambino!”

Jamie weighed 12st8lbs when he arrived as a Love Island bombshell in 2017.

At his heaviest, the 6ft2 hunk ended up 17st1lb, but has now managed to shrink down to 14st5lbs.
