JENNIFER Ellison has opened up about taking part in the upcoming series of Celebrity SAS Who Dares Wins.

The actress, 39, is one of the stars who were recently confirmed to be in this year’s line-up – and she didn’t hold back when asked to describe the experience.

The former Brookside star and mum-of-three compared the process to going through labour

Former Brookside star Jennifer said: “[It is] the most excruciating, unbearable, going to hell and back thing you can do.

“And then getting the most incredible reward at the end that stays with you for life and that changes you as a human being, changes you as a person.”

Jennifer, who shares sons Bobby, Harry and Charlie with husband Rob Tickle, compared the process to going through labour, and added: “You’re never, ever the same person again, and I’ll never be the same person again after Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.”

Confessing that one of her reasons for signing up to the show was to make a TV comeback, she added: “I wanted to do it because I’d not done anything for so long.

“I’ve had this kind of break from what I grew up doing and love doing, and kind of lost my identity a little bit.

“So the opportunity came along and I just thought, “I’m going to grab it with both hands and see I can still do my stuff.”

“It was more of a challenge for me personally, to see if I could test myself and kind of remember who I am and the fire I used to have inside of me.”

Along with Jennifer, the full line-up includes Calum Best, Towie stars Pete Wicks and Ferne McCann, Love Island champ Amber Gill and former EastEnders star Maisie Smith.

Meanwhile Jennifer earlier this year insisted she’d love to reprise her role as Brookside’s Emily Shadwick after talk of a possible comeback.

She told the Daily Star: “Brookside changed my life. I went from here, a little dancer to like, having absolutely nothing to overnight living my dream.

“I would do Brookside again in a heartbeat. Only for the reason that it means so much to me. I could just never say no to it”.
