A FORMER contestant on The Chase – who won a HUGE sum – has opened up about his “bizarre experience” on the show.
The ITV game show guest took to Reddit to tell all about his time on the programme – facing famous Chaser Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett.
The TV contestant – who went by the name of Jo on the social platform – revealed how Mark, 56, lost his temper after his team won.
“I won £12,700 on The Chase,” he wrote. “It was a bizarre experience. You spend hours with your ‘teammates’ – complete strangers.
“My team had someone with a dominant personality who kept insisting we should all ‘play it safe’ and not go for the higher prize.
“Because this pissed me off I went for the higher prize money and brought 32000 back to the team.

“The others played it safe and all four of us survived to the final chase splitting 47000 between all of us.”
While the contestant said that host Bradley Walsh is “very nice”, he admitted the same could not be said for the Chaser.
“Our Chaser was Mark – he was super pissed off when he lost and stormed off set as soon as the quiz finished,” the contestant said.
Despite winning a huge lump sum, the star said that they weren’t allowed much time to celebrate in the ITV studios.
“I’d just won what for me at the time was a life changing amount of money and we were shepherded straight into cars and off to our hotels with promise of a cheque to follow,” he continued.
“Literally 30 minutes later I was sat on my own in a Travelodge drinking and watching Strictly Come Dancing. It was quite surreal.”
The man concluded by encouraging others to give the experience a go, provided they were happy to be “patronised by researchers.
“It was a fantastic experience though but prepare to be deeply patronised throughout by 18 year old researchers,” he concluded.
It comes after a Dragons’ Den contestant opened up how he was made to “look dumb” on the show thanks to clever editing.
The entrepreneur took to Reddit to tell all about his time on the show, as he slammed the BBC One programme for “cutting” his pitch.

The businessman, who goes by the name Drew on the social platform, said he appeared on the show years ago with a bright idea.
He attempted to ask the Dragons for a £100,000 investment into his robot gaming platform – but instead was made to look “dumb”.
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV
