I was sterilised moments after giving birth and husband had a vasectomy, says Dancing On Ice’s Kimberly Wyatt, 39

KIMBERLY Wyatt has revealed how she was sterilised moments after giving birth to her third child to stop her having another.

The Dancing On Ice star – who took to the rink for the first time last weekend – welcomed her last baby Ford Senna in 2019 with husband Max Rogers.

The couple share son Ford and daughters Willow and Maple

Kimberly, 39, revealed how she and Max, also 39, decided they were done having kids after their son, two, and daughters Maple, four, and Willow, six.

The former Pussycat Dolls star was sterilised after giving birth to her son, with her singer hubby opting for a vasectomy to prevent further pregnancies.

When quizzed about a fourth child shortly after her last birth, the star told OK! Magazine: “No! I had my tubes clamped while I was in there.”

Max continued: “I’m having a vasectomy too – we’re not taking any chances.

“I’m sure we’re going to be together forever but if we did split for whatever reason then Kim couldn’t have kids with somebody else, so I shouldn’t be able to either.”

Kimberly made the decision before her “brutal” recovery from her last birth – which left her with no strength to even get out of bed.

The couple, who married in 2014, fell pregnant with their third child just nine months after the birth of their second, two years after their first.

It comes days after the star revealed how brutal DOI training left her bruised all over, having injured her head, knees, elbows and neck.

She was joined by skating partner Mark Hanretty to chat about their preparation ahead of Sunday night’s first live show on ITV last weekend.

The singer told GMB hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard about how the number of brutal tumbles she had taken on the ice during her training.

“I fall on average probably twice every time I step onto the ice for a training session, it’s certainly part of it,” Kimberly explained.

“The falls really hurt – like that bite lasts about 20 minutes before it subsides. The bruises are intense but it’s all part of it.”

Ben, 47, joked that he would be wearing “knee pads and elbow pads”, as Kate, 54, added: “I’d be in an inflatable sumo suit if I’m honest.”

Revealing she had tried various types of padding, Kimberly went on to list her injuries, which included a number of nasty bruises.

“I went to practice one day and wore knee pads because I hit them so hard, and instead I hit my neck, my head, my elbows and my hips,” she said.

Nonetheless, Kimberly didn’t suffer a fall during her first skating performance, using her ballroom expertise to wow the judging panel.

Earlier this week, the star hinted that she would be sure to wheel out her jaw-dropping move — the “standing oversplit”.

She said: “My legs have been my biggest weapon in life.

“Michael Jackson has the moonwalk, but in Pussycat Dolls I created the standing oversplit and now it’s become a language among dancers around the world.

“So many girls do it, boys do it and always tag me and it’s a thing.about:blankabout:blank

“So I’m quite grateful that I’ve been able to create that and grateful to be turning 40 and be a mum of three and still get an opportunity to stretch my limbs like that.”
