I’m a body language expert – Matt Hancock’s steamy bridge clinch with Gina reveals who’s really in charge

IT was a long three weeks in the jungle for Matt Hancock – and he seemed overjoyed to be reunited with girlfriend Gina Coladangelo.

The former Health Secretary, 44, finished third in last night’s I’m A Celebrity final, pipped to the post by Owen Warner and Jill Scott.

He was met by mum-of-three Gina, 45, on the infamous bridge and the couple shared a passionate embrace.

The clinch was reminiscent of the infamous snog-gate CCTV footage revealed by The Celeb Report last year, which exposed their affair and broke Covid guidelines.

Body language expert Judi James says their hug and kiss revealed tell-tale clues about their relationship – in which Gina “appears to call the non-verbal shots”.

While Matt made it clear he was keen to show viewers the “real me” on I’m A Celeb, Judi says he “tended to watch others to copy and mimic their behaviour”.

And his reserved nature was on display during his reunion with businesswoman Gina, according to Judi.

“He seems to get his lead from Gina here, standing open-mouthed as she rushes up to throw her arms around his neck,” she observes.

“In their infamous snog-gate video, we also saw Gina with her arms and hands up around his neck in a gesture of more adult control and she was the one that stepped away first.”

Judi reckons Matt “still looks socially awkward with Gina” even when he listens to her talk – despite them presenting a “can’t keep their hands off one another” image.

She says the MP looks like he’s “still in politician mode” when around his former aide, pointing out: “We can see the camera crews walking past the couple and nobody coming for a chat.

“In the end, Matt seems to drop his arm from Gina and stop trying pose-wise.”

Judi adds that Matt “likes to look needy with Gina” – visible in the way he behaved at the aftershow party.

She says: “The most intense aftershow pose involves Matt ‘hiding’ behind Gina with both arms round her waist and his head pressed into her neck and face. 

“This looks like a desire to get her attention and show ownership as well as promote passion. 

“Her hands on his clasp and his arm validate the pose but it does leave her facing the cameras in a non-protective way.”

Matt faced six consecutive Bushtucker Trials that saw him come face to face with creepy critters and eat a camel’s penis.

Reacting to his hug and kiss with Gina after leaving the jungle, some viewers slammed the ex-Health Secretary for having “no shame”.

One tweeted: “Matt and Gina are shameless. So gross.”

Another commented: “Not Matt basically recreating the scandal picture with Gina at the end of the bridge. Wonder how Matt Hancock’s children feel seeing him with Gina!!! Well done #ITVX #ITV for thinking of their mental health!!!”
