I'm A Celeb fans convinced they spot hidden message in Nigel Farage’s letter from home

Viewers speculate on coded message

I’M A Celebrity fans are convinced that Nigel Farage’s letter from home contained a hidden message. The GB news presenter, 59, received an emotional message from his children as all of the campmates gathered around the fire in last night's episode.

Unusual expression raises suspicions

Nigel's daughter Isabelle is in Australia to support him. Nigel is dad to sons Thomas and Samuel with his first wife Gráinne Hayes and Victoria and Isabelle with Kirsten Mehr. In the letter, they wrote: "To Dad, you’ve achieved so much over the years but nothing has made us prouder than showing people who you really are. Why are we not shocked at you effortlessly sinking those dirty pints?" They then added: "You will be pleased to hear the boat is afloat and everything’s running smoothly."

Secret code or coincidence?

Those watching at home picked up on the slightly unusual expression and were convinced it was in fact a secret code between them all. Taking to social media, one person wrote: "The boat is afloat code in Nigel Farage’s letter?" Another questioned if it was actually sent by his children, saying: "Farage's 'kids' giving him a covert message: the boat is afloat and everything's running smoothly. Aww, how heart-warming." And a third added: "'boat is afloat' sounds like some sort of secret code in Farage’s letter."

Daughter speaks out on her dad's experience

Nigel’s daughter – fashion student Izzy, 18, – is currently in Brisbane to support her dad on the show as the final looms. As she arrived, she said: "We did say people get filmed in the shower. But hey, he’s a confident guy and he’s confident in himself so fair play. I think he’s been getting on really well and now people are seeing what he’s actually like. It’s been nice to see him broadly get along with everyone. There’s been a few disagreements but he very much believes in shaking hands and agree to disagree, and we’ve seen that first hand. He’s always been a bit of an outcast and an oddball…so it’s been really nice to see bits of his personality shine through. He’s a very divisive character. So it’s either love or hate but now it seems to be there’s a bit of a middle ground of like: ‘I don’t agree with this politics but he seems like a funny guy.’ That’s been really nice for all of us as a family. He’s just my dad! That’s all it is to me but it’s not quite the same to the rest of the country. I really do think you’re seeing his personality now. Even little bits like pottering around complaining, about the dishes not being done. That is so him."
