I’m A Celeb rich list – how winners have cashed in with six-figure McDonald’s ads, lingerie lines and steamy novels

AS the new I’m a Celeb campmates settle into their chilling castle home, they’ll be hoping the cold, hard nights will soon give way to cold, hard cash.

Being crowned King or Queen of the Jungle can open up some serious money-spinning opportunities – with past winners landing TV shows, books deals and adverts.

Stacey Solomon has seen the tills ringing since winning the show

Gino D’Acampo raised his TV profile on the show

As well as their handsome appearance fee – which can be anywhere between £30,000 and £500,000 – the winner can also expect to cash in on collaborations as high street brands clamour to get them on board.

Celebrity wealth expert Alex Clarke says: “This year the winner of I’m A Celeb can expect a whirlwind of prime-time exposure.

“A win-win for old hands and newcomers alike. TV shows, personal appearances, social media, own goods branding – all potential future money spinners.”

As Emmerdale’s Danny Miller and Naughty Boy battle it out against the likes of Richard Madeley, Arlene Phillips and Frankie Bridge, we look at how previous winners have cashed in on the crown.

Harry Redknapp – McDonald’s ads and £500k appearance fee

Harry missed his ‘Sarn’ in the jungle

Harry won the heart of I’m A Celeb fans with his affable nature and sweet references to wife Sandra.

The former West Ham and Spurs manager was never short of a bob or two but his spell as King of the Jungle gave his career a fresh boost – starting with his sign-up fee for the show, which was a reported £500,000.

His love of stodgy puddings landed him the infamous Jam Roly Poly advert for GoDaddy, and he was paid a six-figure sum to become the face of the McDonald’s ads, with son Jamie.

He and wife ‘Sarn’ also starred in FootAsylum’s 2020 Christmas ad.

Harry, 74, has fronted two series of Harry’s Heroes on ITV and various Sky1 shows with Jamie.

He has £10million in property company assets, and £3.6million in HJR Enterprises, his media firm – with earnings doubling from £1.6million in 2018, the year of his stint in the show.

Harry established Pie & Mash Media last summer, perhaps with an eye to making his own TV content, setting it up as a ‘motion picture, video and television programme’ business.

His property assets are held on the books of two firms – Pierfront Faversham and Pierfront Developments.

He lives in a £3.5million mansion in the exclusive Sandbanks, Dorset.

Gino D’Acampo – Family Fortunes host and slew of cookbooks

Gino lives in a £1.25m house in Hertfordshire

Gino caused controversy on the show by skinning and eating a rat and was arrested after winning, although charges were dropped.

But the show kicked off a successful TV career, presenting cookery shows including Let’s Do Lunch with Melanie Sykes and Gino’s Italian Escape.

More recently, he’s stood in as team captain on Celebrity Juice, has presented the revival of Family Fortunes and fronted a travel series with Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix.

The Italian chef recently got wife Jessica and their three kids in on the act with Gino’s Italian Family Adventure.

The 45-year-old, who has a £1.25million mansion in Hertfordshire and a mansion in Sardinia, is a multi-million pound brand.

He’s banked £4.3million in visible media profits at Gino D’Acampo Limited and Gino D’Acampo Holdings – including £2million last year and £4million since the show.

He has retained £3.2million in firms as of April 2021 and his restaurants remain
popular – despite nursing pandemic losses, he clocked up £14.2million in sales in his latest accounts at Bonta Italia.

He has also published 15 cookbooks and last month he launched a property company.

Stacey also bagged a regular slot on Loose Women, for a reported £3,000 an episode.

She banked £712,472 at firm Boudica Entertainments after her stint on the show, closing it down in 2013 and landing £591,247 from voluntary liquidation.

The former EastEnders actor, 39, was declared bankrupt in 2009, over a £20,000 tax bill, although his agent denied financial difficulty and said there had been a mix up.

As well as lucrative panto roles, Joe’s win also led to a role as team captain on TV game show’s Hole in the Wall and Fake Reaction and CBBC show Gimme a Break.

Last year, he added another feather to his cap when he won Dancing on Ice.

The show opened up TV presenting jobs for the Gogglebox star

She also landed a slot on Ant And Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway in 2017, but was dropped two years later.

The 31-year-old has published an autobiography and hosts several podcasts, as well as landing lucrative collaborations with shoe brand Deichman and Jet 2 Holidays.

She’s been quietly banking hundreds of thousands with her earnings revealing themselves in the small print.
