BOSSES of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here has predicted “fireworks” in the camp as Matt Hancock heads to the jungle.
Behind the scenes of the hit ITV show, show runners are expecting camp mates to rage as they meet with the MP for the first time.
Bosses expect it to kick off in camp when Matt arrives
He is set to join his celebrity camp mates in the jungle tomorrow
Tonight, Matt, 44, is set to be confirmed as one of two final contestants entering the Australian jungle for the new show series.
I’m A Celeb bosses are hoping it will make brilliant viewing as the former Health Secretary’s co-stars quiz him on why he’s there.
An insider has teased that the current celebrity line-up’s reaction to Matt is said to be “fascinating” and will be “must watch TV”.
They told The Mirror: “The show is doing brilliantly in the ratings already but his introduction will only increase the levels of interest.
“How the other contestants react to Hancock will be fascinating. Whatever you think of his decision to go on the show, it will be must watch TV.”
Fans have already been pipping ITV newsreader Charlene White to be the first to quiz Hancock – who is still a serving MP working for his constituents in West Suffolk.
Before entering I’m A Celebrity, Loose Women’s Charlene, 42, said she would not shy away from probing the other celebrities.
She previously opened up about her own personal tragedy, after her great-aunt Dell passed away from Covid-19 in 2020.
The journalist revealed she “couldn’t hug family at the funeral” and slammed “rule-breaking” MPs when her beloved aunt passed away.
Insiders have warned that the former Health Secretary should expect a grilling by co-star Charlene over the government’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Celeb Report revealed that Matt is being paid close to half a million pounds by I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!.
Insiders told The Celeb Report how the Conservative MP had landed a payday worth around £400,000 to take part in the ITV series – sparking fury among his critics.
A source said: “Matt’s pay deal with I’m A Celebrity is around £400,000 which is one of the largest ever show fees to have been paid out.
“ITV were keen for viewers to think the deal was worth around £150,000 but in reality it’s over double that.
“They asked him to be on the show three times in a matter of weeks and the money definitely helped seal the deal.”
The under-fire former Health Minister has insisted he will make a sizeable donation to charity, but the size of his deal has caused outrage – with those who know him saying his West Suffolk constituents will be apoplectic with rage at the size of the cash deal.
Matt is now in quarantine on the Gold Coast ahead of the show – in a huge £2million mansion with a huge pool.
He will join 10 other stars including pop star Boy George, former rugby player Mike Tindall and Coronation Street’s Sue Cleaver in the Australian jungle.
Hancock is set to face his fellow celebrities for the first time tomorrow night – after he is revealed to his camp mates tonight.
