Nella Rose faces backlash over argument with Fred Sirieix
Controversial I'm A Celebrity contestant Nella Rose has suggested that she may leave the show following a heated confrontation with Fred Sirieix.
The 26-year-old YouTuber received widespread criticism from viewers last night after lashing out at Fred over a seemingly harmless comment made during dinner.
Apology not enough for Nella
Nella, who tragically lost both of her parents within a four-year period, launched a scathing attack on the First Dates star, 51, after he remarked that he could be her father.
Despite Fred's profuse apologies, Nella gave him the cold shoulder and made her displeasure clear.
Thoughts of quitting
During a conversation with Grace Dent, Nella expressed her inclination to quit the show, especially if fellow contestant Jamie Lynn Spears decided to leave.
She admitted, "I've never, ever in my life started something and finished it. Ever. I always quit, or I always sign on short term or if I don't like it I can leave... this is the one thing I said I'm going to try and stick it through but I can already see myself... if I get in my head too much..."
When asked by Grace if she tends to run away when things get tough, Nella explained, "When I was younger I was put in a lot of situations that I had no control over. I was sad and miserable. So now that I have the control over my happiness and the things I want to do I think I'm kind of, I've become obsessed with it: 'Oh, you don't have to do this if you don't want to.'"
In the Bush Telegraph, Nella added, "Whenever I feel uncomfortable, whenever I feel sad I do tend to leave. I do tend to not carry things through if I feel uncomfortable. So the fact I've lasted in the jungle for this long is astonishing."
Struggles with self-discipline
Nella revealed to Grace that she used to have a lot of discipline, but that changed when she went through a difficult period in her life. She explained that her lack of self-discipline led to weight gain and other negative consequences.
She confessed, "If Jamie left yesterday I would have been right behind her... I'm leaving. I just don't want to be the first."
However, unless Nella can turn things around and redeem herself in the eyes of viewers, it seems likely that she will be the first to be voted off the show following the backlash from her argument with Fred.
