I’M A Celebrity’s Vernon Kay is hit by a tidal wave of freezing cold water as he battles this year’s Celebrity Cyclone.
In a teaser of the upcoming trial, the 46-year-old is seen encouraging fellow campmate Jordan North to hold onto two stars as he prepares to run up and grab one.
After Jordan’s successfully holds onto the valuable castle loot, Vernon starts to running towards him as water and inflatable balls bash against him.
In the background hosts Ant and Dec are heard screaming: “Go, Vernon go!” via megaphones.
Once Vernon nabbed a star from Jordan he continues to run to the finish line only to be hit with a freezing cold tidal wave that washes his fellow campmates away while he powers against the water.
As his pals are pushed back to the beginning, laughing Ant and Dec comment: “We’ve lost three, he’s stayed there. He’s there!”
However, viewers will have to wait until tonight to find out how they fair after that catastrophe.
Last week, The Celeb Report revealed that fans would still get to enjoy the show’s legendary Celebrity Cyclone challenge this year, despite the move to North Wales.
Viewers had been concerned their favourite part of the series would not make it.
The task sees the famous faces don superhero-style capes and try to retrieve stars from a slippery hill as they’re blasted with wind, water cannons, foam and balls.
It has been a regular feature since series six in 2006 when Myleene Klass, 42, Jason Donovan, 52, and Matt Willis, 37, christened it.
The Cyclone has provided I’m A Celebrity viewers with some of the show’s most hilarious moments – with even Holly Willoughby taking on the Cyclone in 2018 when she covered for host Ant McPartlin.
A TV insider said: “This often took place in the heat of the Australian jungle which meant it could easily be staged outside where it needs huge amounts of space.
“That left fans wondering if building something similar in Gwrych Castle in Wales might be impossible, because of the freezing temperatures and the limited room inside the building and its grounds.
“But it seems producers, who are determined to ensure the British equivalent is just as fun as the one Down under, have found a way to make it happen.”
I’m A Celebrity is coming to a close after nearly three weeks on with Vernon, Giovanna, Shane and Jordan vying to become the first king or queen of the castle.
Last night, viewers watched as AJ Pritchard and Sir Mo Farah became the seventh and eighth contestants eliminated from camp.
The pair were evicted from the castle (December 2), following the departures of Russell Watson and Jessica Plummer on Tuesday.
