Ant and Dec are gearing up for a very long show

It isn’t however the longest one of the series – the first episode went on for a whopping one hour and 45 minutes.

Hollyoaks star Owen Warner, who plays Romeo, is now the odds-on favourite at 10-11 to be crowned king of the jungle for 2022.

Coral’s Lewis Knowles said: “Jill Scott has been our favourite to win it for much of the show, but punters have certainly come for Owen Warner in recent days, and he’s now taken top spot in that market at 10-11.

“As the odds would suggest, it looks a two-horse race at this stage, and we’ve seen very little in the way of support for any of the other contestants in recent days.”

JUNGLE GRUMBLE

Furious I'm A Celeb fans hit out after show is delayed because of the footy

His best mate and Hollyoaks co-star Malique Thompson-Dwyer previously insisted he was likely to win.

Malique, 24, who took part in I’m A Celeb back in 2018, said: “Owen knows exactly what he’s doing in that jungle.

“He’s smart and funny, he’ll go in and suss it all out.

“He gets on with everyone and is really easy going, everyone is going to love him in camp.

“And you know he knows what he’s got to do in the shower. He’s going to spend most of his time in there showing off his body.

“He’ll be washing his chest all day long, to help with those votes.”

So far only women have been booted out of the jungle – Charlene White was first to go, followed by Scarlette Douglas, and then Sue Cleaver.
