I’M A Celebrity votes revealed Jordan North missed out on beating Giovanna Fletcher by an agonising 0.5%.
The Radio One DJ was an early favourite to win the latest series of I’m A Celebrity, which took place in Wales instead of the Australian outback.
Now ITV have released the official voting figures for the final, where Vernon Kay, Jordan and Giovanna went head-to-head for the crown.
The first vote wasn’t as close, with Giovanna pulling ahead with 39.45% of the vote share and Jordan clinching 34.06%.
Vernon only received 26.5%, so came in third place.
Then when it came down to the final, Giovanna won the most votes with 50.27% to Jordan’s 49.73% – meaning there was only a marginal 0.54% between them.
More than 12 million votes were cast for their favourite contestant to win.
With it being so close, some fans even accused blogger Giovanna’s victory as a “fix” because of how popular Jordan was.
The Celeb Report revealed that Jordan – who was a relative unknown before the camp – was a last minute replacement for Naughty Boy.
The producer and rapper – real name Shahid Khan – was forced to pull out last minute due to a family illness.
Jordan had just 48 hours to prepare for what became a rollercoaster ride that catapulted him to household fame.
A music source said: “Shah was so excited to take part in the show as it would’ve been such a great platform for him to step out from behind the scenes a bit.
“He’s an absolute megastar in music and has worked with all sorts of people from Emeli Sande, Sam Smith and Zayn Malik to Beyonce, but only a few people know what the man behind the hits is really like.
“Shah is really humble and actually quite shy, but he has so many great anecdotes about the people he’s worked with.
“Producers were gutted when he dropped out and hope he might be able to take part in future years, but they could never have foreseen the success Jordan then had.”
