Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson, 31, is set to join this year's I'm a Celebrity lineup. As he gets ready to head into the Australian jungle, he has revealed the strain it has put on his relationship with girlfriend Zara McDermott.
Conflicting schedules keep the couple apart
Sam and Strictly Come Dancing star Zara McDermott, 26, have been dating since 2019 and live together in Chelsea. However, overlapping schedules, with Zara's participation in Strictly, means that the couple will spend another month apart.
A bittersweet experience
Speaking about their time apart, Sam said, "Obviously it is a strain for anyone's heartstrings. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't going to miss my girlfriend so much. I already do miss her. But having said that, what an amazing experience."
Two rival shows
Sam also mentioned that there was a potential for their shows to overlap, saying, "I can't speak to Zara, but I know she thinks the same thing. I can't believe that we even had two rival shows."
Hollyoaks star Nick Pickard on saying goodbye to family
Meanwhile, Hollyoaks star Nick Pickard, who is also joining I'm a Celebrity, shared that the hardest part for him will be saying goodbye to his family. He is a dad to daughter Ellie.
A soap legend enters the jungle
Nick has played the iconic character Tony on Hollyoaks for years and is excited to show fans who he is behind the character. When asked how he will be written out of the show, Nick admitted he didn't know. He said, "You sort of say you're going and they sign you off."
