The new dad made a joke about his girlfriend getting up in the night for the baby

He was talking about life as a new dad on Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe’s Parenting Hell podcast, when he admitted he hadn’t been woken up in the night by the newborn.

Seann said: “I said ‘she does sleep through the night, we’re really lucky’, but then Grace overheard me and said ‘she’s up five times a night’.”

The comment upset some listeners who weren’t happy about Seann’s take on parenting.

One said: “Another critic penned: ‘Listening to Seann Walsh on @parenting_hell podcast – is complete male incompetence and ignorance when it comes to parenting still considered ‘funny’? Sooo many eye rolls.”

Another added: “What a lot of misogynistic clap trap wrapped up as comedy.

“This is my favourite pod.. some eps I’ve listened to more than once but …this ep? Nope! ( Rob and Josh have me howling… “

Seann hit back: “Well looking at this was a big mistake. Yikes, was just having a laugh guys…

“No need to be so personal. Sorry you didn’t enjoy it. It was fun to do. Blimey.”

Seann and his girlfriend Grace welcomed their first child in February.

But the birth didn’t quite go to plan, as the comic admitted he fainted during the delivery.

He praised the “great” hospital staff for taking care of them both and shared their hilarious reaction to his blackout.

He wrote: “I passed out during the birth. Of course I did.

“The nurse’s response? ‘Men’.

“Fair.”

The comic has been dating dance teacher Grace Adderley, 30, since 2018.
