I’m A Celeb’s Jordan North reveals mum and brothers are ‘absolutely heartbroken’ he’s stuck in London alone at Christmas

I’M A Celebrity star Jordan North admitted his mum and brothers are “absolutely heartbroken” he’s stuck in London alone at Christmas – without a sofa!

Jordan, who lives in London but hails from Burnley, took part in ITV’s Lorraine today when host Andi Peters asked him about his Christmas plans.

Jordan North told ITV’s Lorraine today that he couldn’t make it back home for Christmas

The BBC Radio One DJ explained the Tier 4 restrictions torpedoed his plans to reunite with his family.

Jordan replied: “I was planning on going home today after me radio show but obviously I can’t after the announcement.

“My mum was absolutely gutted, there’s been a lot of tears on the phone this week, she’s heartbroken. And so are my brothers and me nephews, but look we’re all going through it.”

To make matters worse, Jordan hasn’t got a sofa because he was borrowing one from a friend who needed it back during his I’m A Celeb stint. The star added: ” I’ve been on camping chairs ever since.”

Jordan was a rock for his family throughout his brother Bradley’s cancer fight, his parents recently revealed.

Jordan’s parents Wendy and Graham recently paid tribute to him

The Radio DJ’s parents Wendy and Graham grew emotional as they spoke to Lorraine Kelly about their son on ITV earlier this month.

Graham, who is currently stationed in Iraq, revealed Jordan turned into the man of the house at 16, when his younger brother was diagnosed with cancer.

He said: “I was away at the time, and my oldest son was also away on an operational tour, and Bradley, our youngest son, was diagnosed with cancer.

“Jordan was 16 at the time, and he manned up, he took control, looked after Dominic, his other younger brother while Wendy was in Birmingham hospital and the children’s hospital in Manchester while Bradley was having his chemotherapy, and he organised everything.

“He was absolutely superb. He’s got a brilliant human nature. You’re proud to call him your son. He’s absolutely fantastic.”

Wendy, who was in the family home in Burnley, wiped tears from her eyes after her husband’s glowing tribute.

It’s not only Jordan’s parents who are proud of what he is doing.

He has also been praised by his war hero brother Sergeant Ryan North.

The paratrooper serves in the 2nd Battalion Parachute Regiment, but says his little brother is a “hero”.

Speaking to The Mirror, Ryan, 34, shared: “He is the hero in my eyes. I’ve never wanted more to put my hand on his shoulder and reassure him it was going to be all right.

“I think we all changed a lot during this period. At the time I don’t think any of us noticed it but looking back it definitely brought a strong family unit even closer together.”

He added: “He has worked so hard to achieve his boyhood dream of Radio 1 DJ we need all his fans to now push his dream further so we can crown him King of the Castle.”

“I’m most proud that Jordan has been himself in there.”
