The telly favourite, 62, used to down one bottle of wine a night
The former Birds Of A Feather star admitted she downed a bottle of wine a night – and when she couldn’t find the cash for it – she asked random people on the street.
Linda candidly told Women’s Own magazine: “I’d find money and say ‘excuse me I’ve lost my key and I can’t get out.
“‘Would you be able to go and get me a little bottle of vodka from around the corner?’
“A couple of people did but one day I asked a man to do it and he turned out to be from an alcohol crisis place that my family had called to come and help me.”
Linda told how she replaces booze with cups of tea on a night out.
Yet when she is at co-star Stacey Solomon’s house, she is treated to a virgin pina colada.
Linda has previously revealed how she knocked back rum in M&S while in the midst of her breakdown.
In 2018, she suffered a breakdown that saw her life spiral out of control as she turned to alcohol and nearly destroyed her close-knit family.
Finally, after three stints in various clinics, her erratic behaviour was attributed to a rare allergic reaction to an anti-depressant and she is now on the road to recovery.
She also adopted a sugar free diet after being told she was at risk of diabetes.
Linda has been open about her mental health battles on and off screen.
She admitted she had self harmed two years ago in an emotional Loose Women segment.
She said she hit rock bottom and had a breakdown on holiday with her Loose Women co-stars Nadia Sawalha and Stacey Solomon, who brought her home and took her to The Priory rehabilitation clinic.
