He previously masked his identity when he applied for planning permission for a car port canopy in his front garden, by using the name of a boozy love cheat from his favourite novel.

The telly host changed his name to Logan Mountstuart, a fictitious British writer whose story was told in 2002 novel Any Human Heart by William Boyd.

But in revised plans submitted the to the local council, he and wife Anne-Marie Corbett have used their real names to apply for permission for a double car port at their seven-bedroom Arts & Crafts-style home.

Ant, who got back behind the wheel in 2019 after he was banned from driving the previous year, will have plenty of space for his two Range Rovers.

McPartlin‘s luxury home boasts five reception rooms, a large open-plan kitchen, cinema, sun room, study and office.

He bought the pad in 2018 but did not move in until £1.6million worth of renovations were carried out, and has since added a swimming pool complete with Victorian-style changing rooms.

He was also granted planning permission for side and rear extensions and a new front entrance.

Council officials are expected to make a decision on the garage next month and there have so far been no objections from neighbours.

If planning permission is granted, it will give McPartlin an additional bedroom and bathroom and building work will start in July.

Other famous residents who live in the area include TV mogul Simon Cowell and former Strictly Come Dancing judge Darcey Bussell.
