FIRST Dates star Fred Sirieix has found love himself – and is preparing to marry his partner who he affectionately calls Fruitcake in Jamaica.
Fred and Fruitcake got engaged in March, 2020 after two years of dating and now they’re jetting off to the Caribbean for a tropical wedding.
The Covid pandemic has forced the pair to remain “optimistic and positive” as they wait until there are less travel restrictions before locking in solid plans.
“We want to have everyone there and if we’re flying, I don’t want to be stressing about restrictions or anything like that,” he told Ok.
The Frenchman admitted there was a possibility they might marry in his native Paris, but they “are quite set on Jamaica”.
“I am optimistic and positive, but I think the next hurdle will be next winter,” Fred explained.
“I think that if we can get through next winter unscathed, then I think that we’ve got a good chance. We’re pretty relaxed about it.”
Fred also explained he managed to meet his new love in an unconventional way and it was love at first sight.
“I was walking down the street, and we just started talking and went for a drink together – and that was that,” he said.
“We were just in the right place. There was a kiss at the end, too.”
Fred is also as relaxed about his stag do as he is about upcoming nuptials.
“Yes, it’s not that complicated. I just have to make a couple of phone calls and it’s done. It will be a blast, no doubt,” he said.
Fred is usually very private about his own love life.
However, in July 2016, the French native revealed he had never been married before.
He added that the closest thing to marriage had been his 12-year-old relationship with a woman simply known as Alex to the public, with whom he has two children.
They are 16-year-old Andrea and 11-year-old Lucien, who play a huge part in his life.
Andrea is making a name for herself in her own right, winning gold at the FINA Diving Grand Prix in the 10m platform event, which helped her claim the Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
Fred is so private he has never revealed Fruitcake’s real name, but he was sure to take her with him when he celebrated his 50th birthday in Paris last month.
He share snaps of their fun trip to Instagram including standing on a balcony in the French capital holding huge ’50’ balloons with a smile on his face.

The Frenchman looked dapper in a grey poloneck and navy bomber jacket, while Fruitcake rocked a pink hoodie and some huge sunglasses.
