Inside GBBO 2021 star Amanda Geo’s off-camera life with luxury holidays, wild swimming and impressive cooking skills

GREAT British Bake Off star Amanda Geo has given fans a glimpse at her glamorous off-camera life with luxury holidays and home cooking.

The police investigator and her husband Pat – as well as their two young daughters – are often seen enjoying themselves on Amanda’s social media.

Amanda, 56, took to the Bake Off tent for the first time last week, wowing judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith with her baking prowess.

But outside of the show, the cooking star is frequently seen on holiday with her husband and family – from wild swimming to skiing.

From Cyprus to Italy, far-away moutnains to around the UK, Amanda has been all over the world to cook alongside her friends.

A series of social media snaps documents Amanda’s time in Cyprus, where she looked to have stayed throughout the entirety of August.

One shot sees the stunning view from her huge villa, overlooking rows of palm trees and a green valley beyond as the sun beat down.

While another photo sees Amanda sitting beside the waterways of Venice, wearing a large pair of sunglasses and a stylish sunhat.

A third snap sees her and husband Pat standing in front of a snow-capped mountian range – with Amanda donning a pair of cosy skiing trousers.

If that wasn’t adventurous enough, Amanda also admitted that she likes to go ‘wild swimming’ in lakes as she shared a snap of herself in the forest.

Amanda also spends time in her flower-packed family home, as a fourth photo showcases the homely living space in the background.

That’s not all – as the baking lover has also met up with her co-stars on the show, including George Aristidou, who she was pictued with this week.

Smiling from ear to ear for the camera, the pair chowed down on huge meat and vegetable stuffed pitta breads at a restaurant.

“My brother from another mother,” she wrote in the caption, adding of their pittas: “Why is yours bigger than mine?”

Amanda isn’t the only Bake Off star to give an exciting insight into their life beyond the Bake Off tent, as Maggie showed off her stunning home.

The retired nurse and midwife is one of 12 contestants taking to the tent this year in the hopes of being crowned the GBBO champ.

Every year Bake Off opens the doors of his famous white tent where a dozen amateur bakers are put to work.

Returning to the show is veteran host Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas, who took over hosting duties from Sandi Toksvig on the 2020 season.

Channel 4’s golden goose programme saw the ratings for the first show of the series slump massively compared to last year’s curtain-raiser.

Some six million people tuned in — down 1.4 million on the 2020 figure and the lowest ratings in the five series since the show moved from BBC One.

It comes after Paul Hollywood admitted he was ‘p***ed off’ by this year’s bakers as they made him gain weight during filming.

Speaking to lovesunday magazine, Paul said: “I put on 12 pounds in that
b***dy tent. Prue put on a pound! A pound during Bake Off? That’s ridiculous.”

He continued: “All I wanted to do was go home to try and lose the weight again! I am p****d off this year for the first time about it, because I was doing really well.
