THE Great British Bake Off star Prue Leith is famed for her colourful choice of outfits on the Channel 4 baking competition.

So it may come as no surprise to her fans that behind closed doors, the restaurateur is equally colourful with the decor for her home.

Prue, 82, will return to screens tonight alongside Paul Hollywood and co-hosts Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas for a new series of Bake Off.g

Since she was last seen on the hit Channel 4 show, the star has been keeping busy by decorating her new home with husband John Playfair.

Not dissimilar from their wardrobe choices, Prue and her clothes-designing other half haven’t scrimped on the colour around their brand new abode.

The bold chef has opted for a splashes of sunshine yellow around the entire kitchen – from the walls to the cupboards and even the curtains.

BAKE TO ITS BEST

The bright kitchen space centres around a huge island – which has been clad in yellow cupboards to match the lemon-printed blinds.

Prue’s “most important room in the house” features a towering utensils holder, fit for her wooden spoons and baking utensils.

All the baking ingredients one could dream of have been neatly laid out in labelled jars on yellow shelves – behind a large dining table and chairs.

Continuing with the colourful theme, the chairs alternative in yellow and green to tie in with the sleek and stylish kitchen.

Prue said of her bright kitchen earlier this year: “It’s important our kitchens reflect our personality – for me that means injecting a bit of colour.”

Elsewhere in the house, there are further pops of colour – including a red-painted wall in the living room, which features pink sofas.

A huge book shelf can be seen packed with novels, while art hangs from the walls and is displayed on coffee tables throughout the room.

Another room is the house is painted in a dark teal, with more art jam-packed throughout the space to add a touch of personality.

“Luckily my husband loves colour as much as me which is why the whole house is FULL of colour,” Prue wrote to her Instagram fans in February.

“Creating this dream home has been so exciting. From a blank page to this,” she added, alongside further snaps of her yellow kitchen.

The new Bake Off hopefuls will step into the tent for the first time tonight in a brand new series of the show.

The new series marks Prue’s sixth as a judge on the show after she took over the role from Dame Mary Berry in 2017 when the show moved from BBC One to Channel 4.

Last week the brand new bakers competing for the title of Star Baker were unveiled with the most diverse line-up to date.
