Inside Gemma Owen’s glam life with stunning mum and Love Island star pals as footballer dad Michael lets her go on show

LOVE Island confirmed that Gemma Owen would be joining the line-up for the eighth series of the hit ITV2 dating show today.

While she’s no doubt glamming up ahead of her first appearance – the soon-to-be reality star is already used to a luxurious lifestyle.

Gemma, 19, who is the daughter of footballing legend Michael Owen, is set to appear as part of the ten new hopefuls looking for love.

ITV confirmed the news after The Celeb Report exclusively revealed that the Instagram influencer had asked for her dad’s blessing to take part.

She is set to jet off to the luxurious Majorcan villa this week ahead of her appearance – alongside nine fresh faces to ITV2.

But the glamorous lifestyle will come as no surprise to Gemma, who is often seen on lavish holidays, and nights out with her famous pals.

The influencer – who sports an impressive 48,000 followers on Instagram – is often seen jetting off to exotic places round the world.

Just recently, Gemma was seen holidaying with her family in Dubai, where she posed for a selfie with her lookalike mum Louise.

She could also be seen showing off her enviable figure in a tiny bikini as she dipped her toes in a pool and sipped cocktails.

Elsewhere, Gemma jetted off on another holiday to the Algarve with her mum – where they posed for a bikini snap together.

Gemma posed by the pool in the sun-soaked resort of Quinta do Lago, just months after returning from another Dubai break.

The star has also posted snaps from Ibiza and Marbella, as well as a number of luxurious locations across the UK.

Gemma, who is the eldest of four siblings, is also a keen horse rider and is frequently seen alongside her large black horse.

She often competes in international dressage competitions – and was seen at the Mediterranean Championships in Spain.

Back at home, Gemma is often seen on fancy spa days and visiting top restaurants, including those frequented by celebrity pals.

The soon-to-be star is already followed by previous contestants Liam Reardon and Brad McClelland – who took part in 2021.

Today, Gemma was revealed as one of the girls set to enter the Love Island villa next week, as the show returns to screens.

She explained: “Sport has always been a big thing for me and my family. My dad was a professional football player.

“I’ve competed for Great Britain in dressage since I was 11-years-old. I’ve travelled all across Europe competing in big arenas in big competitions.

“I would say I’m very competitive. [When it comes to relationships] I will always go for what I want.

“But at the same time, I’m not going to mess up something for someone who is in a proper relationship or get in the way of a couple if they have a genuine connection.

“I wouldn’t do anything to another girl that I wouldn’t be happy with them doing to me.”

Asked what she will bring to the villa, Gemma said: “I would say I’m fun, flirty and fiery.

“I think I’m good at giving advice, I’m a good person to talk to, I’m very honest. If I want the same guy, I’d do it but in a nice respectful way.”

Gemma also revealed she was dating someone but when that ended she decided to give Love Island a go to find her dream fella.
