Inside Gogglebox’s most dramatic transformations – from 4st weight loss and new teeth to unrecognisable makeovers

IN the nine years it’s been on our TV screens, Gogglebox has given rise to some of the nation’s best-loved characters.

The success of the hit Channel 4 show has turned the lives of these otherwise ordinary families completely upside down.

And, unsurprisingly, some of its stars have undergone seriously glitzy makeovers to match their newfound fame.

It’s been five years since Amy Tapper, 22, quit the show along with her brother Josh, mum Nikki and dad Jonathan, and recently she’s been living it up in Los Angeles, showing off her four stone weight loss.

Since overhauling her diet two years ago, and doing more exercise – including taking up boxing – she’s been looking amazing.

Here we reveal other Gogglebox legends who look radically different from when they first joined the show.

Izzi Warner

Izzi Warner, 29, joined Gogglebox with her sister Ellie, 31, in 2015.

The fan favourite is a mum to two young children, a six-year-old son, Bobby, and daughter Bessie, two, with her partner Grant – who she regularly references on the hit show.

Since giving birth to her second child in February 2020, Izzi has shed an impressive amount of weight.

Revealing her new trim figure last year, she told fans she “felt like Beyonce”, sharing a picture of herself looking more glamorous than ever.

And she’s still looking great now, with a new blonde hairdo replacing her red locks.

Ellie Warner

Izzi’s sister Ellie is a hairdresser – so it’s no surprise that she’s constantly experimenting with her hair.

When she joined the show she was a blonde, but since then she’s dyed her hair everything from bright purple to blue.

At the moment she’s sporting a pink barnet – and there’s no denying she manages to pull it off.

Jonathan Tapper

It’s not just Amy who’s lost weight in the Tapper household – she went on a health kick with dad Jonathan, who has also lost three stone.

He slimmed down from 21st 3lb to 18st 8lb and saw his waist shrink from 44in to 38in with the help of Musclefood’s Do The Unthinkable diet, which features high intensity workouts and low-calorie pre-prepared meals.

Jonathan made the change after being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.

He said: “I love to eat so keeping the weight off has always been a struggle.

“I’ve lost weight a few times, through cutting out the rubbish in my diet and upping the exercise, but over the years the pounds have slowly crept back on.”

Tom Malone Sr.

The Malone family joined Gogglebox in 2014, quickly gaining recognition for always having a pile of cakes and sweet treats in front of them while watching the telly.

But during lockdown in 2020, Tom Malone Sr. clearly overhauled his lifestyle and shed pounds in the process.

The dad looks completely different to how he did when he first graced our TV screens.

And he looked trimmer than ever in a video of him dancing with his son Tom Jr. on TikTok.

Tom Jr. is also looking very different to how he did when he first joined Gogglebox with his dad, mum Julie and brother Shaun.

Last year the reality star – who’s currently taking part in The Real Dirty Dancing – unveiled his new bleach blonde hair which contrasts with his bushy brown beard.

But his mum was far from happy; Tom revealed she’d sent him a text reading: “You’re joking? You’re winding me up, it’s an app? Please tell me it’s a joke, it’s terrible.

“You wouldn’t, not when you have your niece and nephew’s baptisms coming up!!”

Sorry Julie, he did.

Stephen Webb

It’s not just Stephen Webb’s TV-watching sidekick who’s changed in the years since he joined the original Gogglebox cast.

The hairdresser – who now sits beside his husband Daniel Lustig on the show – has completely changed his look, shaving off his trademark locks and ditching his iconic black-rimmed specs last year.

He also lost over a stone in the run-up to his 50th birthday.

On the show, he told his husband “my new haircut is going down a storm… I’ve actually been told I look a bit like George Clooney”.

Sophie Sandiford

Sophie Sandiford, 26, joined Gogglebox with her brother Pete, 27, back in 2018 – but she looks worlds away from her first onscreen appearance.

The Blackpool beauty has experimented with every hair colour under the sun, including jet black, bright purple, turquoise, orange and pink.

But, as she celebrated her 26th birthday, Sophie revealed she’d gone for a very glam do with ash blonde dip-dyed ends.

As she showed off her new look, with her hair styled in waves, one fan commented: “Absolutely beautiful.”

Sid Siddiqui

Viewers were obsessed with Sid Siddiqui’s lockdown transformation when he started sporting a purple rinse last year.

The 76-year-old, who has been a regular on the show since 2013 with sons Baasit and Umar, had been dying his hair black when he first appeared.

But on returning to the show after a break due to lockdown, fans were quick to pick up on his grey hair that had seemingly gone a bit lilac.

Louis Michael

We pretty much saw Louis Michael growing up onscreen, with him having been on Gogglebox since the first series with his mum Carolynne, late father Andrew, and sister Alex.

In those nine years he’s changed a heck of a lot and now sports long, curly hair and a beard.

In fact he’s even been likened to Jesus in a recent Instagram post.

Scarlett Moffatt

Scarlett Moffatt is arguably the biggest star to come out of Gogglebox, having become a fan favourite overnight when she joined the show in 2014 with her parents Betty and Mark.

After shooting to fame, Scarlett splashed out on a new set of teeth to replace the ones that had been left blackened by a bike accident when she was 11.

Before heading into the I’m A Celebrity jungle in 2018, Scarlett shed two stone after she was told by doctors that she was clinically obese.

She’s yo-yoed between a size 18 and 8 ever since – although these days she’s much happier embracing her curves.

The Northern lass hasn’t been afraid to experiment with her hair over the years either – and in 2014, she dyed her dark locks bright red.

She also had blonde highlights for a while, but has gone back to her natural colour in recent months.
