POP ICONS Boy George and Madonna clashed in the 1980s but the I’m A Celeb star has said he regrets many of the insults he flung at his chart rival.
The British pop icon, who will make his I’m A Celeb debut on Sunday night, once branded the Like A Virgin singer a “vile, hideous human being with no redeeming qualities”.

He has had many a famous feud, slamming Madonna multiple times in the 1980s when they competed in the charts
He also savagely claimed that comparing Madonna with Marilyn Monroe was like “comparing Raquel Welch with the back of a bus”.
George, 61, made the remarks after the pop icon struck a Marilyn-esque pose for the 1991 cover of Vanity Fair.
Speaking about taking swipes at the star, he told Jonathan Ross last year: “It’s not something I would say now… it’s really just, I’m actually a bit embarrassed I said that.”
And he said about his former self: “That person is someone I created. I treat Boy George from the 80s as a sort of cartoon character.”

He went on: “Madonna… she fascinates me.
“I love Madonna. Come on, how can you not? Of course I do. She’s my contemporary. I’ve actually just sold some paintings of Madonna that I did.
“I’ve not had the good sense to do that (work with her).
“Could happen though. I wasn’t joking. Imagine me and Madonna on a record, it would be amazing come on.”
Back in 2014 George admitted in an interview with Huffpost: “I’ve said awful things about Madonna and I’m not proud of that at all — I’m really not proud of that because I didn’t know her.”
But Madonna isn’t the only celeb George has beef with.
Vogue Williams revealed her feud with the Karma Chameleon singer.
The presenter has claimed that the DJ has held a “personal grudge” against her.
George also caused tension with the late George Michael.
George was left devastated when pop rival George died on Christmas Day.
But he often clashed with the former Wham! singer, sparking one feud which he called the worst of his career.
“Who’s that after me? Sounds really camp,” Boy George said about George Michael during Band Aid in 1984.

He later told Piers Morgan’s Life Stories: “We were not great mates. We knew each other very briefly in the early Eighties before Wham!.
“We had our squabbles. He was called George so he was my rival.
“We were kind of battling all the time. Every time we did see each other, we got on brilliantly.
“But I suppose our egos would not allow us to be friends.”
