LOVE It or List It star Kirstie Allsopp has a very famous family including a cousin who is a household name.
The property developer, 50, is best known for her role on Location, Location, Location and her TV marriage with co-host Phil Spencer.
But in real life, viewers may not know that Kirstie’s father is a Lord, the 6th Baron Hindlip, meaning the TV star could be referred to as The Honourable Kirstie Allsopp owing to her father’s peerage.
Unfortunately, Kirstie’s mum Lady Fiona Hindlip tragically died of breast cancer at the age of 66.
Kirstie’s cousin is famous designer Cath Kidston, 63, who’s retail company sells furniture, handicraft and vintage themed items that embody a quintessentially British lifestyle.
Cath is also from a line of famous faces, her paternal grandfather was Glen Kidston, a popular racing driver for Bentley in the 1920s.
Surprisingly, Cath and former Prime Minister David Cameron’s wife Samantha are first cousins. They share the same grandmother, Nancy Soames.
Kirstie’s sister Sofie Fletcher is also a television presenter and property expert.
She previously joined her sibling on Kirstie’s Homemade Christmas, where they shed light on various inexpensive and easy methods to create the perfect Christmas atmosphere.
In 2006 Sofie became a regular on our screens when she temporarily replaced Kirstie on Channel 4’s Location, Location, Location, while she was on maternity leave.
She has also enjoyed success across the pond in Canada, where she helped people sell their home in TV show The Unsellables.
Kirstie married property developer Ben Andersen in 2004 and the couple share two sons, Oscar, 15 and Bay, 13.
She is also stepmother to her partner’s two children, Hal and Orion, from a previous relationship.
Kirstie recently made headlines after she branded Gogglebox “mean” and “the cruelest form of TV” in a surprising rant.
The TV presenter hit out at the show in a new interview, saying: “One of my least favourite TV shows is Gogglebox.”
She continued to My Weekly magazine: “It’s the worst form of mean, cruel television. It’s one thing to talk about people in private but to put it in a public space is not entertainment.”
The Location, Location, Location star previously revealed her dislike of the show after they dissected her show Kirstie’s Crafty Christmas on it.
She described it as “stomach churning” and said it was “just people being negative about other people.”
Despite her feeling towards Gogglebox, Kirstie has made it clear she is a big fan of Channel 4, which broadcasts show.https://imasdk.googleapis.com/js/core/bridge3.496.0_en.html#goog_1497534211
Discussing it’s possible privatisation, she said last week: “Folk say @Channel4 is too woke, and selling it appeals to anti woke voters, but they’ve had me front & centre for the last 20 years, and him indoors.
“Much as I like to use correct & sensitive language and understand the issues of the day I hardly think Pip [co-star Phil Spencer] & I are woke central.”
When someone pointed out she regularly slams Googlebox, she replied: “I hate what Gogglebox did to my Christmas show, but that’s Channel 4 for you, they employ me yet still allow me to attack one of their shows.
“It is an amazing place to work, all the TV I have ever made is for Channel 4.”
