Inside Phillip Schofield’s relationship with his daughters Molly & Ruby who are standing by him amid affair shame

PHILLIP Schofield has revealed his daughters are sticking by him despite his affair scandal.

The “broken and ashamed” former TV presenter revealed he would not still be here if it wasn’t for his girls Molly, 29, and Ruby, 27.

Schofield, 61, exclusively told The Celeb Report he was in a bad way before insisting he wasn’t a groomer following his relationship with a teen runner on This Morning.

The man who is clearly on the brink said: “I am in a very bad way. Mentally, utterly, utterly broken.

“And if it hadn’t been for my girls last week I wouldn’t be here.

“I know I deserve it but they said, ‘Don’t you dare, we’re here to look after you’. I feel embarrassed and ashamed.

“I have just felt like I was going lower and lower and lower and lower. And then, this bizarre, numbness washes over you, like a selfishness.

“I’ve had such a s*** couple of years, and with this ultimate final cataclysm, I looked ahead at nothing and the girls said, ‘Don’t, we are here to look after you. Don’t you dare do it on our watch’.

“And that took me one step back and they won’t leave me alone. They were guarding me.”

It comes after he’s been hung, drawn and quartered on social media over news of his affair with a much younger colleague.

He cheated on his wife and repeatedly lied to family, friends and his ITV colleagues.

He is now off all social media and has deleted it all from his phone.

The ex-presenter made it clear how close he was to the girls after revealing he was gay in 2020.

Phil – who has been married to wife Stephanie Lowe since 1993 – broke down in tears as he discussed their reaction on This Morning.

During an interview with former co-host Holly Willoughby, he said: “It wasn’t easy [telling my daughters]. But they are so amazing in their love and support. They jumped up and gave me a hug, a big hug, a long hug. They hugged Steph and said,

‘It’s OK, this is fine.’

“We’ll always be a family. Always, us four, is what we call ourselves.”

Their continuous support comes as little surprise despite the bombshell admitting years of “deceit”.

The family used to attend parties together and jet off on fabulous holidays.

Before Covid they all went to the Maldives and shared numerous pictures of their quality family time together.

Phillip used to take time off This Morning during the school holiday – even though they are adults – to make sure he gets to be with them as much as possible.

He previously revealed they are real daddy’s girls as he still pays their phone bills on the condition they stay in touch with him.

He said: “I pay both of my girls’ phone bills and I pay them on the absolute condition that I am constantly kept in the loop.

“The minute they go quiet I tell them they’re going to have to pay and it’s amazing how quickly they get in touch.”

The star always makes sure he is not an embarrassing dad and said in the past that he always checks with them before he posts anything online.

“I don’t post anything without their say-so,” he said.

“I check with them, is this okay? But they’re fine with it. My eldest daughter is my manager so she’s well across it all.”
