Ronan Keating's Home Improvement Project
Ronan Keating, host of The One Show, has been given approval to construct a large garage for his impressive collection of supercars at his £5 million mansion in Hertfordshire. The 46-year-old star recently requested permission to build a 32 x 22-foot structure on the four-acre property.
Huge Garage for Expensive Super Cars
The garage will serve as a home for Keating's luxury vehicles, which includes a £200,000 McLaren 650S, a £100,000 Mercedes G-Wagen, and a Land Rover Defender. The new structure will provide protection from the elements for these valuable cars.
Addressing Accessibility and Aesthetic Concerns
Keating explained that his family has struggled to enter their home without getting wet during the winter months. To address this concern without obstructing the beautiful views of the nearby countryside, which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Keating plans to construct a 12-foot tall open-sided canopy.
Life at the Mansion
The Hertfordshire mansion is currently home to Keating, his Australian wife Storm (age 41), and their young children Cooper (age six) and Coco (age three). He also has two older children, Missy (age 22) and Jack (age 24), from his previous marriage to Yvonne Connolly.
Home Renovation Challenges
Keating and Storm purchased the property in 2016 but soon discovered that significant renovations were required, including replacing the plumbing and electrical systems, as well as addressing structural issues. The couple made the decision to demolish the existing structure and start anew. Construction on the new mansion began in 2019 and has been ongoing.
Celebrity Drama Surrounding the Project
During the renovation process, Keating and Storm resided in another property. However, they faced a dispute with their cleaner, who claimed they refused to pay a £500 bill. No comment has been received from Keating's representatives on this matter.
Keating's Love for Cars
Besides his passion for music, Ronan Keating is also known for his love of automobiles. Among his impressive collection is the £200,000 McLaren 650S.
