Sam, 30, is also mum to Rosie, five, her second child with long-term partner Paul Knightley.

The family packed their bags for a stay at a country hotel and enjoyed lunch when Sam surprised her son with a visit from his best pal Rupert.

The excited children then enjoyed a swim in the hotel pool and a swim.

A beautiful balloon display took up much of their room, with the words ‘Paul’s Safari’ written in between images of zebras and giraffes.

Paul then wore a safari hat to blow out the candles on his grand Jumanji cake, which was full of images from the popular film.

Paying tribute to her birthday boy, Sam wrote on her stories alongside a snap of him as a newborn: “6 years ago I gave birth to the most beautiful little boy.

“My first baby who made me a mummy, who changed my life forever. I can’t even remember life before you Paul.

“Thank you for being mine. I love you with every inch of me. Happy 6th birthday.”

Then under a snap of Paul in his school uniform she said: “From day one you never left mummy’s side. We done absolutely everything together.

“You even come to work with me.. Attend all my meetings. Even if I had an event, you would be in the nearest hotel with one of the nan’s so I could leave and come straight back to you after about an hour.”

BIRTHDAY WISHES

Sam added: “Then last year you started school.. I’m so proud of you and the young boy who you’re becoming.

“As much as it’s sad for mummy watching you grow and grow each year it’s equally the best thing getting to know your personality & being such a wonderful friend to me.

“You really are one special little darling. Happy birthday my boy.”

Sam’s sister Billie also joined in to wish her nephew the best on his special day, sharing a snap of Paul with his cousins Nelly and Arthur.

She gushed: “Happy birthday to my beautiful nephew Paul

“Auntie has watched you grow into the most beautiful, happy, kind little soul we love you so much”.
