Inside Sister Wives star Kody Brown’s crumbling family including Christine moving out & Meri’s catfish confession

SISTER Wives star Kody Brown’s marriage has had its ups and downs through the years, from wife Christine Brown moving out of the family to more issues that have rocked the relationships with his spouses.

The TV star went from four wives to two this year, leaving longtime fans of the show reeling.

The Sister Wives family has had a rocky road as Kody has attempted to juggle four wives

Christine Brown recently divorced Kody

Christine, 49, married Kody in 1994, becoming his third wife.

The pair confirmed their split on November 2, after months of specilation.

Christine released a statement via Instagram saying: “After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave.”

The divorce came after Christine expressed on the TLC reality show that she wanted to return to Utah.

Kody was not interested, which ultimately pushed his wife to leave without him.

Christine isn’t the only wife that left Kody and the blended family they built together.

Meri Brown, whom he married in 1990, is also said to be done with her polygamist husband.

She and Kody have been legally divorced for many years — a move they made so Kody could adopt fourth wife Robyn Brown‘s three children from a previous relationship.

They remained in a spiritual marriage, however.

Earlier this month a source told Us Weekly their relationship is “all fake.”

The insider alleged: “She and Kody have had zero relationship — it’s all fake.

“They’re together for TV, essentially.”

These splits didn’t happen over night, nor are they the only ups and downs Kody’s marriages have faced through the years.

In fact, Sister Wives fans have been privy to many of the challenges the Brown family has faced.

OVER AND OUT

Christine moved from Arizona to Utah in the wake of her decision to divorce Kody.

She sold her home and, as previously confirmed by The Celeb Report, moved closer to older daughter Aspyn, 26, and son-in-law Mitch Thompson.

Christine is currently living in a $1.1million duplex four minutes driving distance from the home Aspyn and Mitch rent.

The couple lives in a three-bedroom, three-bathroom condo while mom Christine and her youngest daughter Truely live in a two-story duplex built in 2019.

The home features two living units attached next to each other as townhouses.

Christine’s portion is 3,490-square feet.

It boasts three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

‘GREAT DEAL OF SADNESS’

The TV star spoke out about her split earlier this month, and Kody followed her statement with one of his own, saying: “Christine’s decision to leave comes with a great deal of sadness.

“We enjoyed many years together and I have a large amount of respect and admiration for her.

“Although we are moving forward on different paths, we will always remain committed parents.”

The pair were only spiritually married, but shared six children together: Mykelti, Aspyn, Paedon, Gwendlyn and Truely.

Christine recently addressed her decision to leave Kody, saying in a Cameo video that it was “a long time coming.”

She admitted in the clip: “The decision was a longtime coming and I feel like a much better person divorced than I ever did.”

The star went on to say: “Life is so great. I had no idea life could be simple. I didn’t know it could be simple.

“It’s a whole new world and I just hope Kody and I can still remain friends during all of this.

“Because we’ve been still real high communicating with each other and stuff. I mean good and bad days, don’t get me wrong but we have a life still together after this because we have kids to raise.”

CATFISH CATASTROPHE

Meri may have only recently left Kody, but their marriage has been struggling for many years.

The pair have spoken openly about the root of their strife, which is a catfishing scandal that occurred in 2015.

Meri had been communicating with someone online, whom she believed to be a man. She told that person that she loved them, despite being married to Kody at the time.

The pair was struggling at the time, but the catfishing scandal put more strain on their already floundering marriage.

Kody said in a season 8 trailer for the show that he was unaware of Meri’s online communications until after the fact. He noted that they were “struggling enough” at the time.

The pair went to counseling after the fact to try and get back on the right path, but had a hard time.

In an April episode of the popular series, Kody and Meri celebrated 30 years of marriage.

‘WE’RE A FAMILY’

Meri said to Kody in the clip: “Here we are, celebrating our non-anniversary because we’re not a couple, but we’re a family.

“You and I have not been out together since last year’s anniversary, which is fine. It is what it is.”

Kody confessed during the show that after the scandal and throughout their therapy sessions, he hoped a “spark” would return to their marriage but it never did.

“As we went through this process, I’m looking for a spark — something to initiate some for m of desire for a relationship with each other,” he said in a confessional.

“In this time, it has never manifested.”

Kody told Meri on the show: “I think we miss the idea of us. We don’t miss each other.”

Like Christine, Meri now lives in Utah where she has a bed and breakfast.

JANELLE NEXT?

Following Christine and Meri’s decisions to leave Kody, fans suspect another wife may be on the verge of divorce as well.

Janelle Brown, who has been married to Kody for more than 20 years, shared a photo from a “family dinner” which appeared to be missing a key component: Kody.

She captioned the post: “Dinner with Gabe, Garrison and their ‘plus ones'”

Fans noted Kody’s absence from the table and began to speculate about what the may mean.

One follower commented: “Where’s Kody?”

While another hinted that Janelle may have moved on: “You look really happy Janelle. Good for you.”

A third simply suggested she “Leave the Jerk!” if she hadn’t already.

Not long after the post, Janelle and Robyn both slammed Kody for “ignoring his family,” showing their unhappiness in their marriage.

The comments came in teasers for an upcoming episode of Sister Wives, during which the family gathered to discuss Christmas plans.

CHAOS

Kody told his wives: “I can’t tell you guys what to do.

“I can’t decide what I’m gonna do. And if the family wants to get together, they can figure it out too.”

Janelle suggested in the clip that they have a celebration with some of the older children in the family, who were in town visiting.

Kody shut down the idea, citing pandemic-related concerns: “I don’t know how long the virus is gonna last, but I’m not gonna have a big Christmas gathering.”

Robyn also complained, saying: “The relationships are struggling.

“My relationship with Kody is struggling because he’s not seeing his family as much. I feel very helpless here.”
