I’M A Celebrity’s new set is taking shape with just days to go until the show returns – and we can reveal what’s in store for the celebs.
The stars taking part in this year’s series – set in Grwych Castle in Wales and hosted by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly – will definitely be put through their paces, with terrifying challenges and even punishment for those caught misbehaving.
Add in the gruesome eating challenges, which last year saw Vernon Kay chowing down on sheep’s brain, and the typical UK weather, and it’s safe to say this is definitely no holiday camp.
Edge challenge
Although the show is taking place in the UK for the second year running, instead of its former Aussie home, the iconic edge challenge is making a comeback!
The horrifying task previously saw the celebs split into teams and made to scale two towers suspended 100 feet off the ground in order to collect red flags.
Emmerdale actor Danny Miller is taking part in this year’s series, and previously revealed: “I’m absolutely terrified of heights.” Oh dear…
Cells for misbehaving stars
Snaps of a vast new set built at Grwych Castle show two menacing gothic towers with iron bars at each level.
There was something similar for last year’s show, with 10 grim prison cells which were used for the first Bushtucker Trial.
‘Black box’ trial cabin
Other new pics from the set in Wales showed a mysterious black box and, while it’s not clear yet what it will be used for, it’s probably fair to assume it isn’t housing a nice spa for the celebs…
More doom and gloom
The camp doesn’t look any more appealing than it did last year which is great for viewer entertainment, but not so good for the celebs who’ll be living there.
TV survival guru Bear Grylls previously told The Celeb Report that the celebs in camp could face adverse weather conditions including heavy rain, strong winds and even snow.
He said: “The bad weather in Wales will be brutal. Contestants should not underestimate it. You get persistent wind and rain and that makes people cold fast.”
The celebs who’ll be braving the elements this year include Loose Women’s Frankie Bridge, Radio 1Xtra host Snoochie Shy, Good Morning Britain host Richard Madeley and EastEnders actor Adam Woodyatt.
They’ll be joined by Emmerdale star Danny Miller, ex-Strictly judge Arlene Phillips, Corrie’s Simon Gregson, Olympian Matty Lee and musician Naughty Boy.
Completing the line-up are BBC newsreader Louise Minchin, Paralympian Kadeena Fox and football legend David Ginola.
