Inside Tom Parker’s romantic wedding to wife Kelsey with The Wanted bandmates as best men

THE Wanted’s Tom Parker married the love of his life Kelsey four years ago after they met in a nighclub before he found fame.

The 33-year-old singer, whose heartbreaking death was announced by his family yesterday, tied the knot in the summer of 2018 in a romantic ceremony in the grounds of Ridge Farm in Surrey, England.

Tom had bandmates Max George and Jay McGuinness as his ushers and shared his day with with OK! magazine at the time, telling the publication: “It was the best day of our lives.”

Kelsey added: “I’ve also always wanted to get married outside so it was perfect, and there was no time limit for how long the party could go on for.

“I was like, we cannot have our party stopping at 12am!”

In a video of their wedding day that Tom shared weeks before his death, he is seen dancing with Kelsey, who then grabs her new husband to give him a big kiss, as onlookers cheer.

The muso posted the clip to honour his amazing wife on her 32nd birthday.

“Happy Birthday to the love of my life @being_kelsey have the best day! You deserve the world

Tom revealed bandmates Siva Kaneswaran and Nathan Syke missed his wedding owing to commitments abroad.

Tom explained: “Siva and Nathan said they’d like to but they didn’t know what they were doing at that time.

“It is what it is. We all got on in the band, but I was closer to Max and Jay.

“It was usually us three who went out and got smashed on tour. I’m happy they were there.”

Tom died at the age of 33 after suffering from a brain tumour. He leaves behind children Aurelia, two, and Bodhi, one, and Kelsey.

Kelsey said she was heartbroken as she announced the news on Instagram.

She wrote: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side.

“Our hearts are broken, Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile.” Parker, who was born in Bolton, was diagnosed with a terminal stage 4 glioblastoma in 2020, but said last year that the cancer was stable after an MRI scan. He recently received private hospital treatment in Spain.

The Wanted have sold more than ten million records and had two UK No 1 one singles.

Tom spoke about fame in his documentary Inside My Head that aired in November.

He said: “At the point you start hearing yourself on the radio you go, ‘OK life is about to change.’

“Girls were screaming, I was like ‘what are they screaming it?’ It just got massive. It wasn’t real life. I feel like I was living in a bubble the whole time I was in the band.

“All of a sudden we were touring the world, then when we started spending a lot more time away from home and I started to think, ‘I want some normality.’

“When you strive for that fame and then it comes you don’t want it anymore.”

He continued: “When I came back home to Kels, she never treated me as famous, I loved that about her and our relationship.

“Even though we loved each other we never got to spend time with each other the way normal couples would, the normalcy didn’t really start until the band ended.

“I didn’t realise at the time but it was a blessing in disguise.”
