ITV Axes Provocative Drama 'Tell Me Everything' After Two Series

ITV has decided to cancel one of its latest and self-described 'provocative' dramas, 'Tell Me Everything,' after just two seasons. The network has chosen not to move forward with a third season in partnership with production company Noho Film and Television.

Tell Me Everything: A Brief Overview

'Tell Me Everything' was ITVX's inaugural teen drama commission, delving into the experiences of 16-year-old Jonny Murphy and his friends as they navigate the complexities of teenage life outside of London in the 2020s. The series explored themes such as mental health, heartbreak, addiction, and death.

ITV's Decision and Viewer Response

Despite the show's popularity and its transition to linear TV schedules on ITV2, the decision was made not to renew 'Tell Me Everything' for another season. Both seasons of the drama are currently available for streaming on ITVX.

An ITV spokesperson mentioned, "After two brilliant series of Tell Me Everything, there are no further plans for the show to return at present."

McDonald and Dodds Also Face the Axe

In addition to 'Tell Me Everything,' ITV has also chosen to end 'McDonald and Dodds' after four seasons. The detective series, set in Bath and starring Tala Gouveia and Jason Watkins, left fans on a cliffhanger as McDonald seemingly accepted a marriage proposal at the end of the fourth season.

However, viewers will not get to see the resolution of this storyline as the show will not be returning for another season.

Mark Quartley, Sophie Albett, Daisy Jacob, Spike Fearn, Ben Jones, and Liz White were among the cast members of 'Tell Me Everything.'
