ITV Confirms Return of Crime Drama DI Ray

ITV has officially announced the return of the popular crime drama DI Ray for a second series. Starring Parminder Nagra in the lead role, the show first premiered back in 2022.

New Challenges for DI Rachita Ray

In the upcoming episodes, DI Rachita Ray will be investigating the murder of a high-profile criminal. However, things take a personal turn as racial tensions and sensitive ethnic issues come into play, creating a conflict for Rachita both as a British Asian woman and a police officer.

Familiar Faces and New Additions

Returning cast members include Gemma Whelan as DCI Kerry Henderson and Ian Puleston-Davies as Superintendent Ross Beardsmore. Additionally, Steve Oram, Peter Bankole, and Sam Baker-Jones will be making a comeback. New faces joining the cast include Patrick Baladi from Line of Duty and Lauren Drummond from Holby City.

From Bend It Like Beckham to ER

Lead actress Parminder Nagra is well-known for her roles in both film and television. She rose to fame starring opposite Keira Knightley in the sports comedy Bend It Like Beckham in 2002. Parminder also had a significant role in the long-running medical drama ER, where she portrayed Dr. Neela Rasgotra for six years.
