CORONATION Street’s Paul Foreman’s risks his life as he blackmails Weatherfield thug Damon Hay.
The Coronation Street builder played by Peter Ash made the bold move in an attempt to provide for his family before it’s too late.
Dee-Dee fails to get through to Paul
A desperate Paul continues to do crimes for money
Paul makes a deal with the devil
Despite Dee-Dee Bailey’s (Channique Sterling-Brown) advice, Paul is still refusing to tell his loved ones about finding out he is suffering from motor neurone disease.
With money running out and his days numbered, Paul is adamant on making sure his sister Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) will get the wedding of her dreams.
This has led him straight to ask for some work from thug Damon (Ciarán Griffiths), regardless of the danger he could be thrown into.
Paul asked another thug called Niall to give him another job, far from deterred from a life of crime and big money after his last experience turned sour.
Dee-Dee caught Paul getting ready to steal a car and threatened to call the police, but a stubborn Paul insisted he needs the money and puts the car into gear before he roared off.
Later, Paul decided to take action and cornered Damon in the Bistro office.
Ready for anything to get money, Paul demanded £25k from Damon and threatened to grass him up if he doesn’t go along with it.
He vowed to Paul that he’ll get the cash he wants as soon as he can lay his hands on it, but Paul told him he’s got till tomorrow.
Unfortunately for Paul, Damon has too much experience in the business to let himself be intimidated.
After standing his ground, he double-crossed Paul by calling his criminal contacts, urging them to shut down Paul’s attempt at blackmail.
Damon told his dodgy contact on the phone that Paul is “a clown with big ideas and a big mouth” who is “chancing his arm but is no grass.”
He added: “But yeah, we’ve got to send a message. He needs shutting down.”
Viewers fear Paul will be murdered after making the wrong move against the dangerous Damon and his criminal contacts.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: “Oh no. Damon could end up making Paul disappear like what he did to Jacob. Or Damon could kill him.”
Another wrote: “How daft to blackmail him, Damon is going to kill him.”
A third penned: “Oh Paul, you’re taking a big risk blackmailing Damon.”
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8pm on ITV1.
