Moneyball has now been confirmed for season two, which airs this summer

Leaving many onlookers on the edge of their seats when the first series aired, contestants had to dabble with luck to win a life-changing sum of money or walk away with nothing.

The players had to navigate multiple questions, and if the full six questions were answered correctly, they were in for a chance of taking home £250,000.

However, it all ends with one final ball rolling down the U-shaped track, letting gravity do its work.

Players had to Lock the Launcher – setting the height the ball would be dropped from with the higher up it went the longer it would roll.

The digital screen behind the track was split into verticals with different amounts showcased behind.

With the flick of a button, the contestant had to let the machine release the ball and let it roll back and forth until it came to a stop on an amount or the Danger sign for no cash.

The good news for those high-tensity fans is that the show is tipped to return this summer.

Moneyball was only announced to be commissioned for season two in April this year, so producers must think fans really want it.

According to TV Zone UK, the new series will air July 22 at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.

It is unclear at present if the format is staying the same or if any changes will be made, but for those that can’t wait, previous episodes are available on ITVX.

Moneyball returns on July 22 at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
