ITV Adjusts Schedule for Budget Announcement
ITV viewers will notice a change in their daytime TV lineup today as Loose Women is pulled off the air and This Morning is cut short. The channel is making way for the budget announcement, which will air from 12:15pm to 2:30pm.
Loose Women Absent, This Morning Finishes Early
Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary have been hosting This Morning this week, with regular hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard on a break for half term. Unfortunately, Loose Women will not be airing at all today due to the schedule shake-up.
Previous Disruptions for National Events
ITV often adjusts its programming to make room for major events like sporting tournaments and elections. Last year, both Loose Women and This Morning were taken off the air during election coverage. Normal programming is expected to resume tomorrow.
Rachel Reeves' Budget Announcement
Today's budget announcement by Rachel Reeves will focus on fiscal policies and spending plans, with a potential tax rise of up to £35 billion. Reeves aims to invest in key areas like the NHS, schools, and affordable housing to drive economic growth.
Rishi Sunak's Response
Former PM Rishi Sunak has criticized the government for broken promises and deception, questioning Reeves' fiscal rules changes. There is speculation about potential increases in employer national insurance contributions and capital gains tax in the budget.
