ITV should AXE This Morning after Phillip Schofield scandal, says Loose Women legend

LOOSE Women’s Carol McGiffin has said that ITV should AXE This Morning after the Phillip Schofield scandal.

Phillip made the shock decision after it was revealed he had an affair with a much younger male ITV employee – just a week after he was dropped from the daytime show.

Last night Phillip spoke to The Celeb Report in a bombshell interview, revealing he is “utterly broken and ashamed” — but stressed he did not groom him.

Carol, who recently revealed she has “stepped back” from her role on ITV’s Loose Women joined Dan Wootton on GB News to give her opinion on it all.

After the recent drama surrounding the scandal, the journalist thinks that the programme has run its course.

Carol said: “Genuinely I think This Morning can’t go on. I think it’s way too tainted.”

She added: “I really don’t think This Morning should carry on.

“I don’t think Holly should go back because she must have known!

“She must have known. Nobody knows if she knew or not. But everyone is saying ‘Phillip lied to me, Phillip lied to me’.”

Phillip’s exit from This Morning was confirmed after weeks of intense speculation about his future and a feud with co-host Holly Willoughby, 42.

It was later revealed Phillip had an affair with a “much younger” This Morning worker while he was still married.

In a statement, Phillip said he’s “deeply sorry” for the affair which he said was “unwise, but not illegal”.

The presenter opened up about being gay in 2020, but remained married to wife Stephanie.

Schofield was axed from This Morning on May 18.
